Only women. It's because I grew up in a houseful of them (never less than two at a time, and as many as five at times) for 18 years of my life with no father. So: A. I was never desensitzed emotionally like most men and B. I actually grew to be more emotionally sensitive and also learned a lot about female psychology in a non-academic sense.

I thought I was only okay at sensing people's feelings, but after reading this thread, I notice that I'm very, very good at it.

Looking at someone for only an instant, I can tell immediately what a majority of people's emotions are.



I think that just comes from working in retail, though. I can immediately change how I address certain people after less than a second of looking at them. (and it is a LIFE SAVING skill with my work. I have to say no to people a lot, in a very much "Customer is always right" situation, so my job has a lot to do with convincing people that no, we REALLY don't accept those things as donations, and that you'd be much better off taking them to a recycling station instead of the dump.)

It makes you feel so gullible when you don't really know what others are feeling. Like with my girlfriend, she is so different inside from the way that she sometimes acts outside that I don't really understand her at points.
