A good amount of the old Pokemon don't make sense either. You just don't notice it.

I like the old Pokemon better, at least they had more Pokemon that DID make sense than the more recent Pokemon games.

I prefer the old Pokémon to the new Pokémon. The games had a better feel to them. I could beat the games multiple times without being bored. But I have tried the new games and even while trying to play it for the first time I just stop.

I agree, despite nostalgia, the old Pokemon made more sense, not that some new ones don't as well as their design, I also like the old voice actors. New moves apply to the old pokemon as well though..

I agree with all of you but in Pokémon black & white, don't you think they rushed some of the Pokémon too fast. For example woobat is a fat version of zubat and there names are slightly identical :/

Hmm...I like most of the old ones, but a lot of the second and third generation Pokemon are cool (especially the Fire Pokemon starters). I never spent a lot of time with the fourth and fifth generations so I can't say much about them. My favorite legendaries are hands down the trio of legendary bird Pokemon for the trio, and Luiga for misc legendaries.

It's hard to say which one is really better. Both the new and the old have their ups and downs in terms of Pokemon. But just for the sake of argument, I have to side with the old Pokemon for the nostalgia. I've just known them for longer and feel more comfortable with classics like Geodude and even Chikorita in the new and old games. That's not say I hate the new ones, though.

There isn't a significant difference in either Pokemon series, to say one is better than the other. It's all the same to me, the only difference being the names of the characters and Pokemon.

Personally, I like the original first Generation of Pokemon because it reminds me of my childhood growing up, playing the games, and collecting the cards.

The original Pokémon basically followed the equation: animal + characterizing features = Pokémon. Squirtle is a squirrel mixed with a turtle with overall cute features and Abra is a fox creature with armor. Most of the original 151 Pokémon were just simple animals mixed with other animals and extra features while the newer Pokémon still try to follow the rule, but they are making many of the Pokémon much more complicated than rattata ever was. This is not necessarily a bad thing that the Pokémon are becoming more complex, it is just a matter of opinion. I personally feel as though the simple-looking creatures of the first game appear better because I grew up with them and that's what I understand Pokémon to be.

For the cartoon, I personally find the old episodes to be more entertaining than the new ones, however I do not say they are better because the new ones suit the children of today. (I'm not gonna get into that any further). For the games, I believe each new pokemon game to be better than the last due to the lack of innovation, so as long as the experience is even slightly enhanced, the new one will always be better than the old one. (excluding console pokemon games like coliseum and other special variations) This is all just my opinion of course.

I very much enjoyed playing Black version because I enjoyed how it was done.  The TV series was better in the original series.  I forced myself to watch the rest of the show.  The Pokemon in general... when I first saw the newest batch, my mind compared them to Digimon, so I prefer the old to the new.
