I recently read FDR's Last Days April 1944 - April 1945 by Jim Bishop.  I enjoyed it greatly.  It had a lot of informative information about FDR.  Perhaps it's greatest significance was the author was alive during FDR's presidency.

I am pretty sure this is very atypical of a most people here and thus not very interesting, but the last book I read was a textbook.  Yeah, all you lucky people, it's a part of my job.

I'm in the middle of this book entitled Queer Science. The book focuses on the history of research into homosexuality from about the mid-late 19th century to the present day (which was the 90s at the time of publication). You'd be surprised how sexist and just flat out ridiculous some of the preconceptions of homosexuals and even women were back in the not so distant past. Many of the individuals discussed in the book that were said to be "professionals" in their day, were pretty much making stuff up with no credible evidence (kinda like Romney/Ryan burrrrrn) and passed it off as science. Very interesting, albeit depressing in many parts. I'm really into reading about gender, sexuality, race, and subjects of the sort.

About a month back, I re-read the first three books of the Eragon series. I was doing it so I could get myself caught up for the final book in the series, and boy am I glad I did! I had not realized how much I missed in those first three books, which made the final book much more satisfying, even if at the end of the book, I always felt slightly upset it was over, but I felt the same way with the Harry Potter series.

After finishing, I took a day of rest and then read the Hunger Games series within 4 or 5 days. That was a good story but disappointing ending. Not a BAD ending, just felt its payoff was not equal to its build-up.

Since then, I have not really been reading much, but my sister wants me to get into this series called "Witch & Wizard" but I think I will wait until I finish this game I been playing on here.

Last book was a discussion on the Desert War of WW2. Nice 100-150 page book. Was very in detail, and taught me a lot. What was kind of funny was that British Generals were constantly rotated during the early days of the desert war.

The latest book I've read is Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian. In this book, Artemis Fowl heals from the Atlantis complex, but is met with the biggest challenge of his life, because opal Koboi has turned herself into a mass of black magic by killing her younger self who traveled through time. Now Artemis must stop Opal from opening the second gate which will release Armageddon and erradicate the human race.

pacman1755 : As a writer I know this may sound a bit hypocritical but I rarely read books. I have been looking into getting a Kindle eventually so that I can read when I’m not online. I have heard that those who use Kindles and other e-readers are very useful and some have even told me that they actually can read books faster than those who read books in a conventional form.

As far as books go I guess the last book that I really read was a book called Natural cures “They” don’t want you to know about by Kevin Trudeau. This book centers on the subject of how certain government agencies and other entities don’t release certain information which could lead to cures of disease and such. The author argues that one of the main sticking points as to why information on cures isn’t released widely is because those who are the decision makers profit off of the pharmaceutical companies and such. I realize for most this probably sounds like a conspiracy theory, I myself was a bit skeptical when I purchased this book; but I really think it is a good read for anyone who is curious on subjects like natural cures holistic medicine, and the healthcare system.

Some of my other favorite books are Mick Foley’s autobiography Have a nice Day and some of the classic hardy boys mysteries. I could go on with other books and such that I have read but I’ll leave it for further discussion. I am also very interested in conspiracy theories particularly centered on American history.

The book I most recently read was the third book in the Airborn series, Starclimber. I love those books because they are sooo good! I like how it's in first person so there's not like an invisible narrator.
