I like Gold/Silver/Crystal the remakes are great and all but will never replace crystal as my favorite video game ever

Personally, I prefer the remakes over the originals because they add just so much more to the remakes. There's the Pokeathalon, amazing music remixes, and Gen IV Pokemon included. It's hard to best all of that with the original Gameboy Color versions, imo.

I tried the remakes.....I just like the original ones a tad better.
I mean, it has a nostalgia factor to it, I think the original music is better than the remixes, can't go wrong .

I loved the original I used to play them over and over as a little boy. I can still play the whole game in a day. Although the remakes kinda bore me and i just cant beat it cause I quit too easily.

Heartgold and Soulsilver is an upgrade of the original Gold and Silver. All are great games though.

The major flaw in Red/Blue/Green/Yellow was leveling up more than once. If a Pokémon could learn a move at Level 10, but it got a lot of experience at once and jumped from Level 9 to Level 11 it would not get a chance to learn that move. That was corrected in FireRed/LeafGreen.

There was no such error in Gold/Silver/Crystal. Besides adding a few meaningless little bonuses and better graphics, all HeartGold and SoulSilver accomplished was taking away the glitches that we treasured.

The originals win for the Johto region.

Gold/Silver/Crystal is fun imo. THe Heartgold and SoulSilver is nice too, but you can't beat the original.

HeartGold and SoulSilver, because there's many other things to do, like Pokewalker, Pokeathlon, Battle Frontier, plus you can capture Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and there is remixed music and revamped graphics.

I believe the remakes are better, there's so much more to do, and so many legendaries to catch. and the Pokeathlon was a nice touch.

I personally say  say Gold/Silver/Crystal, because I personally think the old game is better. Heart Gold/Soul Silver is just a newer version on Gold/Silver/Crystal I'm also wondering if Heart Gold is remake of Gold and Soul Silver is remake of Silver then whats the remake of Crystal?

I'm a crazy pokemon fan I think Gold/Silver/Crystal were the best games

Something seems wrong about HGSS. it isn't new like it was back then. I enjoyed the upgraded graphics, , battle frontier inclusion, etc. But it wasn't the same...

I like Heart Gold and Soul Silver better because they"re newer version of the classical games Gold,Silver and Crystal.

I am an old school gamer and i loved all the old pokemon games much better so gold/silver/crystal is my vote

Pokemon Silver is tied with Ruby for my favourite Pokemon game, as well as one of my all-time favourites. It has that classic portable game-ness that I really like as well as being linked to my youth so there's that nostalgic factor. I actually have the remake and unfortunately, I can't enjoy it. Outside of the first weekend, I think I played it once. It's too different for me and it just doesn't give me that yearning to return to it again and again. Maybe, considering what they were working with, the games were very progressive the first time around. The sound possible at the time really adds a touch of melancholy or the flavor of a distant era. The new games seemed to have cleaned most of that up. The result is very homogenous and predictable. However, I was around to experience the games the first time around. Younger gamers may not have that connection so I'm not surprised that they are edging out the classic versions in the poll. Maybe one day soon I'll pick the game back up and give it a fairer shot.

Tough call. I mean, looking at them, the remakes are pretty much the originals except with upgrades left and right. Plus, I kind of love having my Pokémon follow me around.

However, it was predictable. Since I played the originals, I knew all the tricks for the remakes. So playing the originals was more fun for me simply because the puzzles were new. Plus Crystal version was one of my favorite versions of the game ever. I kind of liked have a legendary Pokémon stalk me around the world . Not to mention I could FINALLY play as a girl. ((Crystal version = best female player character in the entire Pokémon series))

I mean, if you're new to the series, get the remakes. You'll probably prefer them for the upgraded graphics. Us old fans can go live in our nostalgia.

I had the classic Gold and Silver versions, which were Ok by the way, but I will say that I enjoy the remakes of the classic version of HeartGold and Soulsilver a lot considering the fact that I played them both

Well, from what you said to vote for, I have only played Silver and SoulSilver, and personally I think SoulSilver is better. Because you get a Pokewalker and I used to take that to school with me every single day and I used to connect with my friends and it was so addictive. But by the game, SoulSilver is also better because it is much more thrilling
