Okay I'm going to do a brief review on all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies...

Nightmare on Elm Street 1: Good movie with a good plot. Sucks that Johnny Depth got killed off rather quickly as I wanted to him live for a good chunk of the story. The ending part with the car and the front door was scary. I can remember jumping out of my seat when that happened.

Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Not as good, but still a decent movie. The only thing that kind of bothered me was I kept thinking that there was some "homosexuality parts" in the movie (particulary involving the school shower scene). Still a decent movie.

Nightmare on Elm Street 3: I didn't see this one.

Nightmare on Elm Street 4: I would say the second best of the series. Had some scary moments (particulary the part involving the girl turning into a fly and getting crushed in one of those bug traps. Story was pretty solid compared to 2, but not as good as 1.

Nightmare on Elm Street 5: A decent sequel to 4. I didn't like the part with the comicbook guy, but I guess that was a comedy style killing. Had the same female lead as 4 so I'm glad that they kept the same main character unlike 1 to 2 with a male lead.

Freddy vs Jason: While not a true Nightmare on Elm Street movie, it was still a good movie. I'm still waiting for the sequel with Michael Myers (that would be one bada$$ three-way.)

Nightmare on Elm Street Remake: Not as good and not the same when the guy who played Freddy didn't come back. I'll admit that the guy who played Freddy was still good, just hard to get over the fact that its not the same Freddy. Plot wasn't as good and wasn't as scary.

There might be more Nightmare on Elm Street movies besides those ones but those are the only ones that I've seen or know about.

I have never seen the re-make.
But I loved the originals deaths.
Like the fountain of blood scene when that guy Johnny Depp acted got killed.
I wish more deaths were like this.

Man, I'm only sticking to the originals over the remakes, and I never even seen the remake. The originals were extremely scary while my cousin and her bf saw the remake and were disappointed.

SunflowerGaming : The orignal offered better depth within the movie. The remake makes me cry. The original makes me want to watch it over and over again, but my sister says she hates it...because it's too good. Frankly, I agree with her. Usually remakes to good movies don't turn out very well. Look at the latest Friday the 13 movies. The first of the series was the best. Part V and above was godawful.

I disliked the remake; Freddy was too serious and it didn't appeal as well as the original did. The acting was poor. The original was funny, though. Plus, I was kind of scared of the original, but the remake was really poor. I just couldn't enjoy it.

Does anybody remember which original Nightmare on Elm Street had the part where Freddy's arms stretched out like 10 foot each?

I really didn't care for the remake. Like other people said it just wasn't the same without Robert Englund. Sort of like how Superman isn't the same without Christopher Reeve. They're both just...meh.
