Bintsy : well mine did when it was a puppy, the amount of appliance chords he chewed was pretty annoying, all you can do is keep em distracted, plastic bottles and card usualy kept him busy for an hour or so.
More memorably he peed on a visiting american womans leg which was embarrasing, good story though.i was watching a street performer who was playing a violin while riding a unicicle on a tightrope(yes,im serious)and this woman screamed, every one turned round and the performer almost fell.the funniest part was she was on the phone at the time.someone musta thought she was being murdered.
A guy actualy came up to me,shook my hand and said my dog was briliant,i didnt stick around though, the woman was kinda hysterical.

Yes. Our puppy pit. He gets into everything and anything he can get his paws on and no matter how much you get onto him. He just looks at you like your stupid or crazy and goes right back to doing it. He's a hardheaded dog.

We never really had a problem with chewing with either of our dogs. Even as puppies. Now, I'm not saying they never chewed on things they aren't supposed to. Both of them have done it a few times, but only one each worth remembering. Chewing is what dogs do, so we make sure we give them plenty of things to chew on. As long as they have enough variety of toys they are allowed to chew, they get it all out on the toys. When we caught them chewing as puppies, they would get scolded, and we would take them away from what they were chewing, and gave them a toy they could chew on. Eventually, they understood "if I chew this stuff, they get upset. If I chew this stuff, they don't care". Just don't be too harsh on them. If they are chewing on all your stuff, it is either because they don't have enough things that they are allowed to chew, they are bored of not having a lot of stimulation (if we have over a week where we can't take them out to the dog park because of weather, chewing on the wrong things is something they do to work out their boredom because it is something different), or they don't have a clear understanding of what is good chewing and what is bad chewing. Another reason could be because they are don't get enough attention, so they intentionally chew on the wrong things because bad attention is better than no attention. Now, given that you are asking other people what you can do instead of giving them up (and I have seen other posts you made about your dog), I doubt that is the case. So get them a variety of toys (it helps to not let them have access to all of them. Rotate them weekly to keep their toys new and stimulating). Take them out often so they work off energy and don't have the urge to chew. If you have a dog park where you live, or anywhere you can turn your dog loose without a leash that isn't home, make regular trips there for around 45 minutes minimum. It helps a LOT. Also, make time to specifically play with them indoors WITH their toys so they see their toys as okay to play with and chew on. Hope this helps you out.

Thankfully my dogs are well trained and don't have the chewing up anything it's mouth encounters problem! PHEW!

A good way to solve this problem is getting them toys to play/chew on. That's probably why my dogs are well behaved.

The one thing that does bug me about my dogs is the excessive barking for no reason. Other than that they're great.

No, not at all. Main reason is that they're not allowed inside anymore because they pooped a lot in the house. When they were inside, they only ever chewed on a couple of socks.

Bintsy : One other possible idea that I have seen work for a lot of my friends dogs. If you haven't heard of Bitter Apple spray, it is a spray that is safe on most surfaces and non toxic. It tastes revolting to dogs. So if there are specific things they chew on that you want to stop, spray it on that item (it is odorless). The next time they try to chew it, they will stop because the taste is so bad. After a few times, they will associate it with that bad taste. I didn't need it for my dogs, but like I said, I have seen it work with my own eyes with some friends dogs. You can find it in a lot of pet sections of stores. If not there, a pet store will have it or things like it.

My dog likes to poo, pee, and barf on things when we leave the house, just to spite us. He's a total brat, and I can't stand it. He has all these anxiety issues because he was never trained properly and because my mom used to never leave the house without him, now he can't stand being alone.

BTowns : Using a kennel when you leave works wonders with that. Once they see that as a den, they will not pee or poop in it because even though you wouldn't think it, they don't want their own personal space have that kind of filth.

rcarter2 : My dog can't handle a kennel. We've tried that, he freaks out and makes messes constantly and screams and barks and whines until his throat is hoarse. We tried it for about a month, but he never changed. He's ten or eleven now and sleeps most of the day, he's calmed down a lot in the past few years but he used to be a lot worse.

girachu852 : If you have dogs that do that in their kennel, they obviously don't see the kennel as their den.

BTowns : good to hear that he has gotten better. When one of my dogs was a puppy, he whined in his kennel at first. We put something that had our scent on it in the kennel with him to give him that extra comfort. It helped a lot.

Bintsy: I guess one of our dogs does like paper. And he likes to get things from the bathroom trashcan. No other trashcan. However, I won't mention specifically what he gets from there. But if we leave the bathroom door shut and don't leave paper around, we don't have problems with that.
