Hey people, I decided that since it's been officially announced, that I'll make the thread for Sonic Generations. This is the game for the 20th Anniversary, and from the trailer, it looks like it'll be the best game so far. If we are lucky, we'll get on the day of the anniversary, which is June 23rd, 11 days after my birthday Here's the link to the trailer:

It looks really really good, but what sucks is that it's for the XBOX 360 and the PS3

Yeah I like how they're really trying hard to get the old school players back on board while still attracting lots of newer players.

ehh... I don't have a 360 or a PS3 though... -.-

I heard it was also gonna be on Wii, but oh well. I also heard there would be a 3DS port- THAT'S what I was excited for.

I can't wait to get a copy of this. It has such a Sonic Adventure feel to it (which I really love). Definitely going to get it for PS3 when it comes out.

Omniterran : Thats what PS360 owners said when Wii people got Secret Rings. And when they got Black Knight. And when they got Colors. I think they'd have to butcher the game completely for it to work on the Wii when it comes to graphics.

I hope Sega don't disappoint, this looks like a really fun game. Haven't played a fun Sonic game since Sonic & Knuckles

Oh siiiccckkk! This looks really good, looks like they listened to the fans, I like em both(new/old). This looks like a great addition to the Sonic franchise. Thanks for sharing Mega.

The reason it isn't on Wii is twofold:
1: The Wii and Nintendo in general has had a lot of attention from Sega for sonic games recently, with Sonic Colours, being a main series game, ignored a lot of users by being released solely on Wii and DS.
2: The probable release of the next Nintendo in 2012 has probably scared Sega off from releasing something on a soon to be obsolete console. If there IS to be a new Nintendo console, I expect Generations to be a launch title for it.

Now, onto the game itself. As a classic Sonic fan, I'm bliddin excited for Sonic Generations, especially for some attention on Mega Drive game levels that aren't Green Hill Zone, including Chemical Plant, Metropolis, Ice Cap and Flying Battery. I also am surprised to find out that they plan to have levels not just from the classic four sonic games, but also the Dreamcast and more recent "Modern" Sonic games. I wonder which games they'll choose to scoop levels from. I'm expecting a fully 3D Perfect Chaos boss battle .

Thats a really good trailer for the game and I really love the graphics.

This looks like it will be the best since the Adventure series. I hate how they've done the 15th and 20th Anniversary games only in HD, but I guess it's true that it might take away from the game. Still, it's upsetting that I can't play it. If Wii was released HD to begin with, then maybe they wouldn't feel like coming out with another console already.

The game still looks like it'll be fantastic though. I'll just do what I did with Sonic '06: Buy it for a friend and watch them play it. hahaha I've been waiting for SEGA to do a full Green Hill/ Genesis era 3D remake since unlocking it in Sonic Adventure 2. I thought they would've done that instead of Sonic 4, but whatever. Now they have both! Hopefully they'll want to finish Sonic 4 after this game....

Sweet. I wondered what the 20th anniversary Sonic game would look like, and here it is. Definitely getting it for PS3 when it comes out.

This is a game I will be getting. It's on the PS3, it's gonna allow for classic mode, and its gonna be amazing.

I looked at the greenhill zone and City Escape Zone in both formats, and I think it looks like a darkhorse candidate for an award of some sort.

I can't wait to see how this game ends up. I still do not think that I will enjoy the 3D parts of the game. I can deal with them, I hope there is no crappy story though.

Looks amazing. I like how they throw in the best of two gameplay styles into one game. And it's all rendered in awesome looking HD.

It looks pretty epic, I would love to play it when I find it sometime soon.

P.S: Have u heard the rumor ( I don't know if it's true) about the sonic game where sonic is a teenager and he gets a gun and stuff because his speed isn't enough to save him.... ( it's an official game too)

I will get this game as my early b-day present since its coming out in November. I think its an awshum shawsh game. Especially the city escape with the big semi truck. I hope they put springyard zone, starlight, casino night and scrap brain. Maybe even aquatic ruin or labyrinth or some underwater zone. I mean, I miss the almost dead under water music and the air bubble concept. Now they just linger around waiting for their big break. I cant wait to see who else they put into it. Fang, ray, mighty, chaotix, bark, bean, maybe even the little flickies. They had better put metal sonic in this one! I mean its their opportunity. He hasn been in a sonic game since.......either advance, adventure or shadow the hedgehog. I dont remember which.

catfight09 : that sounds quite a bit like shadow the hedgehog.....and sonic is already a teenager lol(15). I'll have to scrounge around for that on the net.

now lets just pray they dont mess up THIS one. Sonic 4 may not have been as good, but just dont mess up THIS one. Maybe after this game flies off the shelves, they'll figure out it's classic sonic game play everyone likes.

Metal Sonic was last in Sonic Rivals 2, so not as long ago as you'd think, though still too long for my taste.
By the way a demo has come out featuring the classic gameplay, and i really like it. Also the folks in the sonic scene did some scrounging around in the code for the demo, and confirmed the level list, some of the bosses, and quite a bit more. Level List in spoiler tags now
