The idea of this thread is similar to the "What Am I" thread, in that one person makes a riddle about ANYTHING POKEMON (MUST be Pokemon though) until someone solves it. Just like in the "What Am I" thread, the answerer may ask one question per guess that the riddle giver must answer. There will be no prize, though. Any VPFC member that gives the correct answer can make the next riddle, but if I notice that a non-member makes a riddle, I'll overturn it and post a relatively simple one. After 15 incorrect guesses, the riddle giver may come up with another riddle or relinquish the riddle to another VPFC member.

The riddle may be on the anime, the TCG, the games, or even the manga. It can involve moves, abilities, SPECIFIC Pokemon (i.e., Ash's Lapras, Misty's Togepi, etc.) but not general, everyday Pokemon, and note-worthy events that it can be expected of people to know about. It can also include stuff like "how many times did Ash lose to Sabrina?" etc.

EDIT: Also, only one guess per day per person. Any number of people can guess, but anyone who DOES guess and gets it wrong has to wait a day to post another answer.

I'll start with an easy one; how many islands comprise the Whirl Islands?

I like this thread, but I don't wanna sticky it, in fact, I don't want many things stickied, because they make it look like a huge mess.

I'm not positive about what the Whirl Islands are, but I think they are the islands from "The Power of One"

That would mean there are three islands. Fire, Ice, and Thunder.

BNuge : It's not the islands from the movie, but you're sort of on the right track. They DO involve Lugia, just not the movie Lugia.

I know that Lugia lives in the whirl islands, and I'm pretty sure there are 4 of them.

eliminator96 : Please read the rules a little more closely. When I said specific Pokemon, I meant an individually identifiable member of a species, or in simpler terms, a Pokemon that is owned by a SPECIFIC trainer, or is otherwise unique, i.e. a riddle with a correct answer of Ash's Lapras and not a riddle for a normal Lapras, to give an example. It needs to be specific, otherwise the riddles will be the same as 'Guess that Pokemon', and I don't want that.

I think there were 10. I know they replaced Koga and I think they replaced Blaine. The other 8 are Johto region leaders.

kyuremu : One is to kill a dark beast that lives in a river, the other to reveal another place. You play it in the middle of the Three Eye Rocks in the desert area.

BNuge : There are ten, although Blaine IS in Gen II. Giovanni is replaced by Blue, and Koga is replaced by Janine, and there are 8 Johto gyms. I only asked for the number, so it's your turn.

UserMike : kyuremu's riddle did not count because it was not about Pokemon. This thread is for to Pokemon riddles ONLY, so I overturned his riddle. Read the rules first, so you know what riddles may be breaking the rules. Don't respond to those riddles.

Okay this is from the first season of the anime (Kanto only). Ash fought 8 Gym Leaders and received a badge from each gym. How many badges did he earn by winning a battle?

BNuge : I'm pretty sure the answer is 7. If I remember correctly, he never actually 'beat' the 8th gym, but Team Rocket dropped the Earth Badge when they were blasted off.

Did he win a badge in battle against Erika? I never saw that episode, so I'm not sure.

This hint of mine should clear everything up. To answer your question, he did not technically win the badge from Erika. There was a fire in the gym and he saved her Gloom. After he saved it, she gave him the Rainbow Badge. He didn't get it by winning a battle.
