There are tons of Pokémon attacks. Since plenty of them are used in the anime, I figured it was safe to put this thread here instead of Franchises Forum (basically this was originally in the VPFC rental forum before it became an official forum). The anime even invented a few attacks.

Any Pokémon attack is valid for this game. The rules are the same as all the other ABC games (A, then B, then C, restart after Z). Also, leave a brief description of what the attack does. Explaining more than that (like which Pokémon can/can't learn it) is unnecessary.


To start, A is for Aerial Submission. It was a move used by Ash's Charizard in the anime. "Charizard spins while flying, causing damage to a Pokémon clinging onto it."



I guarantee that there is at least one move for every letter. If you think there are no moves available, follow these directions to find one on Bulbapedia:

Bounce

Crabhammer. Beastly move, you know.

Go use Dragon Claw! Kashhink* Kashink*. Its super effective!

E is for the ground attack, Earthquake ! Best ground attack in the anime or games. (well, aside from Fissure of course)

Why didn't I think of this!? GAH!!! Oh well, I have one ABC, and it's stickied.

F is for Fling, a move where the user throws its held item; the moves' type and power are determined by the item. It's in the games, even though I've never seen it get used...

Gis for Guard Split. Guard Split averages the user's Defense and Special Defense with those of the target. Stat boosts are not taken into account.

hypnosis forces the pokemon to fall asleep with a tick-watch etc.

I is for ice beam. The user shoots an icy-cold beam of energy. It might freeze the target.

J is for Judgement. It's a move Arceus, and Arceus alone can do.

K is for Knock Off. The user smacks away the target's hold item, preventing its usage for the rest of the battle.

L is for Low Kick. it does more damage the heavier the target is. bye-bye, snorlax!

M is for Mega Drain; it heals the user by half the amount of damage dealt to the target.

alexanyways : I think this should be stickied. It seems like a simple game that only serves as easy posts at first, but this thread should fill up with some of the more obscure moves rather quickly. It could be used as a move reference point when it gets big enough, and stickying it will make sure it doesn't fall through the cracks before it becomes a useful resource.

BNuge : You should edit the rules in the first post to make people describe what the move does, to make this thread more helpful. That way, it will make people a little more conscious of other moves out there, and less people will use the same old stale moves.

n is for nightmare, if you are asleep

O is for Outrage! You are attacked for 2 to 3 turns...but I become confused.

P is for Powergem, its a move that attacks the target with light coming from jewels. :3

Q is for Quash. Quash forces the target Pokemon to move last in the current turn. It does not have priority so will fail if the target already moved in the current turn. Therefore it is useless in single battles and only works in double/triple battles.

R is for rapid spin. The user hurls itself at the opponent while spinning

dkmec20 : Rapid Spin also clears out entry hazards, such as Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Stealth Rock.

Speaking of Stealth Rock... That's what S is for. Stealth Rock takes one turn to set up, and for the rest of the battle causes 1/8th max HP damage to every Pokemon that your opponent switches in, and it DOES factor in weaknesses, meaning Pokemon that are weak to Rock lose 1/4th of their health immediately upon switch in, and Pokemon that have a double weakness to Rock lose a whopping 50% of their max HP, just for switching in. Oh, Resistances are applied as well, so it can be 1/16th and 1/32nd as well.
