I am a proud owner of a Nintendo Entertainment System. I used to have a PAL one, but when I got a Power Glove from the US and found it didn't work, I had to get an American one. The one I currently own is a little faulty. Even with a new pin connector in, I still need to blow on the carts to get them to work. Sometimes they work better when they aren't pressed down. Odd, I know.

Some of my joys with my NES normally is putting the game in. The click it makes when you push it down is just timeless. Then pressing the power button to have the game instantly load up is just amazing. I also love the reset button on it. The NES had a lock-out chip that I disabled to play games from other counties, which for some reason, play faster or slower depending on the region. Sure, it can glitch sometimes, even turning off sometimes (happened to me once for no reason), but the NES was a great console for it's time, with charming graphics, some great 8-bit music, and great controls all round, with the odd couple of games that do not posses these features on that console.

Rough review, I know, but those are the highlights for me about this system. 9.2/10

My family had a Nintendo Entertainment System ever since 1988, still have it, super Mario bros 1, 2, 3 are great! I can beat the first, stuck on world 6-1 using warps on the 2nd, can't beat the 3rd, stuck on 8-2nd airship. Oh well, still, great games!

Yes, I own an NES.  It's not plugged in right now, but it's there!  Right now, I'm using it to sit my SNES on top of.  My NES is not exactly in the greatest shape, though (with a bit of blowing) the games work decently.  The visuals sometimes get garbled, and occasionally the games freeze, but I almost find it to be quite endearing...

There are plenty of interesting, and plenty more tough games.  Standout series for me on the NES are the Super Mario Bros games and the Megaman games.  Also within the past couple of years, I got into Star Tropics, which is very fun, and I would recommend people to check it out if they are looking for an NES game to play on Vizzed that they may have missed.

The peripherals were quite neat for their time.  The power pad was a fun little thing for World Class Track Meet.  Though I've still never been able to beat Cheetah in that game (even with two people banging on the pad).  I never did own a Power Glove or ROB, though I would really love to have my own ROB.

But what do I love the most about the NES?  The sounds.  I will always have a soft spot for those melodic sine waves.

I don't own one anymore, but I used to own four of them.  My dad fixes computers, so when we got one, he figured it would be a good idea to have three on hand for repairs.  I wish I had kept the odd one out of the group, now that I keep hearing about how rare the ones with a different color scheme with the Mario repair stickers were.  We sold them years ago when I was young so we could get enough money for the SNES, and even then I had a moment of clarity when I tried to grab that one out of the group, but was away from the garage sale table for far too long (all four sold in a short amount of time).

Overall, the NES had a lot of great games, and the cartridge system was easy enough to deal with.  I saved my The Adventure of Link cartridge, and despite being left sitting for years, it still plays without a problem in my buddy's NES.  Blow the dust out (though the sticklers tell you to use canned air, as spittle can harm it worse than the dust) and pop it in, and you're good to go.  Get dust on a disk, and there's a good chance you'll scratch up your disk somehow...and I've yet to find a repair kit that works.  Over all of the years I've dealt with cartridges, I've never screwed up a cartridge...and the ones I had bought that were already bad were usually fixable somehow (proper cleaning or an old school ID jammed into the right spot).

Outside of the usual games most people remember, I also owned Gotcha!, which I remember for one main reason.  The game had three levels where you played capture the flag paintball with the zapper.  The game doesn't actually end after those three levels...they repeat, and I got up to level 100 before giving up.  My buddies kept bragging about how far they got, but that record never got taken down.  While games kept going on and the systems improved on my old favorites (the SNES super scope was fun), there was always a draw back to them.

Well yes I did for 9 years at the most but it broke around the year 2006. The good news is I have an NES emulator to make up for it.

I actually do, but I don't have it where I live. Its in my Grandma's house and it has a nice amount of games to it. Lots of classics. All of them still work great including the NES itself.

I currently have a NES.

To make it even better, I was able to obtain a NES Powerpak, which means I can pretty much run anything on it I want that isn't bootleg.

I also have an ol' Famicom and FDS setup in storage.

Nah, I don't have an NES at the moment. I actually don't mind having one as I would rarely play on it anyways, that's what I have Vizzed for!

With so many games on here, I don't feel the need to play on one.

I have had the same NES since 1987 and it still runs perfectly till this day. In the years since I got my first NES, I have picked up a few other NES(s) for my collection. I have a top loader, as well as a custom modded Front Loader. I still am most attached to my first one though.

I'm getting an NES next week with nine games.I think some of them are Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, Silent Service, Home Alone, and Fester's Quest. I have a shop near me that has at least 100 NES games, so I'll actually be able to get more games. Sadly, I don't know if it works or not, the person giving it to me doesn't know how to hook it up to their TV.
