I don't know about anywhere else, but at my high school some people actually tried to have a kick a ginger day... And a bunch of red haired young men got legitimately beat up. It's bullying. I know it started as a joke, but I don't see how that's very funny.

In a joking sense, it amuses me. My cousin is a ginger and she is overly proud of it. Just telling her that it's Kick a Ginger Day would be funny. I wouldn't actually kick anyone.

I thought a ginger was a redhead with brown tones? I have red hair in my genes, my grandmother was a redhead as a child and her hair darkened to brown. I do have very light and sensitive skin and that's probably from the redhead genes I have. I do freckle upon exposure to the sun of any longer period of time.
