Hello, I never thought I'd come here to post or anything, but this is serious.
I need you guys to explain this thing happening to me, since it's only for when I think of Christian topics.
Everytime I think of a Christian thing, the following happens to me:
•My eyes start to drastically water.
•It feels sorta like I'm yawning, but I'm not inhaling, but instead exhaling. And it hurts....
•it feels like I'm being stabbed in the same spot of/in my chest.

I do not want to be converted to Christianity, but please, this all happens due to the thoughts of stuff that are around it.
Thank you for any help that solves my problem.

ummm.....this is all very...out of the ordinary...

Three questions I would ask:
1. How do you know they are related (these descriptions and the thoughts of Christianity)
2. When did they first start?
3. Why do you not want to be a Christian?

I'll be praying for you about this situation, and I will pray that anyone may gain wisdom about how to solve this.

It sounds like some kind of anxiety... perhaps because of pressure put on you by others to convert. I know similar things have happened to me in the past... well, the chest pain part at least, and as far as I can tell that is the cause of mine.

I believe that God speaks to us individually, regardless if we believe in him or not, or Christianity for the matter. I'll wager to say that he has a plan for your life, and is wanting it to come to fruition. I experienced those same things for some time before I became a Christian, and my conclusion of it was concisely a feeling of guilt.

That's the bottom line of it in my opinion. Well, I'll tell you why I personally have no anxiety when thinking of Christian topics, or even being a Christian in general: it says in the Bible that Jesus said,

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30). So my answer is to keep that in mind as to possibly why you are experiencing that stuff, because I personally think it's something that only you can decide upon--whether it is God speaking to you or if it's just a coincidence.

I believe that God has placed within all of us a God-shaped vacuum. The life we live is motivated by seeking a purpose and / or happiness, and so that vacuum within us drives us to pull in whatever we can to fulfill its desire. However, its a void that only God can completely fill when it's all boiled down.

play4fun : 1) I notice them being related by having just thinking of an out of ordinary Christianity event, or sign or something.
2) It's been happening for forever basically =/
3) it's not just Christianity, it's any religion. It feels like a loss of freedom and that their are more limitations in life, in my perspective.
4) no, nobody has tried to make me convert.

I think this is a good thing, pushing religion aside means more freedom for you and your beliefs whatever they are. That is what makes you an individual. Im sure theres many other people out there who feel the same way towards school or work. Eventually, people will call it how they see it and make their own path instead of being a sheep for life and following someone elses laws or path.

People say if you do not follow religion you'll go to hell. Others will say if you don't finish school you will amount to nothing. They are all similar in concept, they are both systems designed to hold you back from something, its just a matter of figuring out what that something is. Don't worry I turn weird when I am around people, I'm pretty sure everyone has at least 1 thing that makes them act weird no matter what subject it is. Its just apart of who you are.

I've never understood this. Tell me something that religions teach you not to do that is so restrictive on your lifestyle?

your gettin a dose of reality...the same feeling hits me, but when i try to think of their being no right religion, that were just here and are gunna die and rot in the ground. For years I swapped religions like socks until i found what i believed in, even thought it cant be labeled as a certain one. Religion doesnt mean restrictions, but opertunities that will be given based on what you feel, not what an old book says. If your having trouble with these feelings, maybe its your mind pushing you to take action and start making choices...(by old book i mean pretty much every religions rules, not a certain group or sect of any individual religious structure. Any offence to any religious group was purely unintended)

MegaRevolution1 : haha, I just realized that your list of numbers is to answer my 4 questions (3 in one post and 1 in the other) I was so confused on what you are listing out...haha

Ok, so you are saying that thinking about Christianity gives you these symptoms, does thinking about other religions give you these types of symptoms?

I would also agree with geeogree. My particular thought about your number 3 is that if you think that believing in Christianity is basically to follow a bunch of rules. Because that is not true at all. In fact, Christians talk more about being free than to be limited.

Oraeus : What do you believe?

I'd take Oraeus' perspective and expound on it: let's say it is a feeling of guilt. What I mean by guilt is that one way in which God speaks to us is through a conviction that something isn't right in our life in a spiritual sense. Now--because God has love for us as individuals, he gives us the choice to push that conviction aside--until eventually your sensitivity to it may cease to exist, or you can be convinced of it.

I've read an analogy that stuck in mind about submitting to God and becoming a puppet. This guy was convinced that becoming a Christian would mean the destruction of his personality, that he'd be altered in some strange way, and that he'd lose control of his own mind.

So this doctor asks him to watch as she turned on a lamp. One moment it was dark, then she turned on the switch. She explained, "The lamp surrendered itself to the electric current and light has filled the room. The lamp didn't destroy its personality when it surrendered to the current. On the contrary--the very thing happened for which the lamp was created: it gave light."
