The ending of Wolf's Rain. If you've never seen the series I suggest not reading this post and go watch it. I mean there's almost no reason to watch it after this post.




*-HUGE SPOILERS-*
Every single main character dies. Not all at the same time either. The whole last five episodes are nothing but tears for me. They go through out the whole series looking for this place called Paradise and then when they get really close to it they start dieing one after another. Killed by Lord Darcia the main protagonist of the series (his story is actually really sad too). I don't mean to discourage anyone from watching the series because it's really good but the ending is saddening. They do reach paradise in a way though.

for me the saddest death ever is shirley from code geass.

I couldn't decide between two.

1: Asuma- I thought this one was really sad at the end, when he asked Shikamaru to light him one last ciggarette. All three of the kids in his squad were there, so it made it even sadder. Also, since Asuma is dead, Kurenai has to raise their baby by herself. And now Konohamaru is the only living person in the Sarutobi clam.

2: Erza- Technically she didn't die, but she had a vision of her death, and until the end of the chapter you didn't know that she was alive. I almost started to cry when Natsu started kicking over her grave and yelling out that she wasn't dead.

Those two are probably the only anime deaths that have maniged to phaze me much at all.

When Kamina from Gurren Lagann died. THAT was really depressing. Especially how it happened. He was struck at such a lethal range, but he actually managed to stick around long enough to finish the battle before he died

What about the deaths in school days???? For me it's not sad but it scared the *bleep* out me. I still have nightmares.... *shiver*

*Warning very tiny spoiler*

OK so this guy goes out with this girl. then goes out with another girl. girlfriend no.1 and 2 meet up. girl no. 2 says she's pregnant. No.1 gets peeved off . No.1 goes and finds the guy. kills him. cuts off his head and keeps it. The she finds girlfriend No 1. cut her open to see if she's really pregnant. No. 2 dies. Few years later No. 1 is on vacation and she is holding the guy's head. She's gone crazy.


I don't know the names... sorry.

I haven't seen all too many anime, but I would have to say pretty much every death on blassreiter. That show has no main character immunity, at the end of the first season only a few of the protagonists are left alive out of a bunch. At the end of the series, only two of the storyline characters are left alive... and it's not like their deaths were meaningless, every death was so dramatic and unexpected and heartbreaking T_T LOL

I actually think both Light's and L's death in Death note was quite saddening, L knew Light was Kira but couldn't get any evidence on him, had Light not forced Rem to kill L, I reckon L would of been able to expose Light.  I'm sad for Light too as if not for the Death note, then Light would have saved lives without resulting to killing criminals. The death note just warped Light perspective on how to treat criminals.
