Sure, everyone has at some point or another, it is human nature (anyone that says different is in denial or flat-out lying). You look at a person and think "they look nice" or cool, or attractive, or scary. It is all part of that first impression. After that come the other notions based on posture, clothing, and observations... like if you see a person wearing glasses the main assumption is that they are smart, this takes a positive and negative form: positive is "they are intelligent", negative is "they are a nerd/geek/dork"

We base a lot of our appearance on how we wished to be perceived, because it is an unspoken acknowledgment that we are judged by our appearances, and we wish to actively shape those judgments.

I have, its unavoidable. Its an essential function of the brain to compare, critic and form opinions based off visual stimuli around us, regardless of what it is. Like elara said it all depends on the individual to decide whether or not it'll be positive or negative

Sadly I have to agree.

The 'proper' thing to do is say you don't care or it doesn't matter, yet really you're going to naturally gravitate towards the hot guy you don't know instead of the one with poor hygiene.

Sometimes it doesn’t matter how kind or mild mannered you may be, people can make spur of the moment judgments and it can be hard to deal with at times.

In the case of when it happens in school I think it is simply a case of immaturity that would lead one to judge someone else. I for one never tried to judge anyone and did my best to get along with anyone I came in contact with the best that I could even when at times I wasn’t the best person.

I am usually able to look past that. Of course I take notice of someone's appearance and make a judgement about their looks, but I don't correlate their physical appearance to their personality. If someone is a good friend I don't care what they look like. I would not be friends/girlfriend with a jerk just because they look good - That would be stupid on my part.

Actions speak louder than words. That being said, when I hear what someone says and it just makes me go "wow" I generally decide that I won't like the person. Rarely do I just see someone and make assumptions without at least hearing what they have to say. I tend to actually like the people that I find most often get judged.

Never ever judged anyone, unless they judged me. I don't think it's necessary to be judgemental. Possibly the only people i might judge is my closest of family, but that's even a rare occasion. Like the famous rapper 2pac says; "only God can judge me". That should be the only thing that can judge you.
