Sometimes you can't really tell whether a game is fun just by looking at the screenshots, but if it has good graphics, you can deffinitely tell it has good graphics just by looking at the screenshots. Your first reaction to seeing a screenshot to a game with awsome graphics is usually "that game has really good graphics", your first response usually isn't "that game looks boring" or "that game looks fun". I think game designers feed off this concept.
