Out of the ones I've played so far, Final Fantasy III/VI, VIII, XIII, and XIII-2.

VII was the first I ever SAW (my old man had played it when I was just a lad), I tried some of it but it crapped out on me later, but I liked what I'd seen so far and would love nothing more than to continue it. VIII was the first I ever PLAYED, I believe. I just love it all around; the music, the story, the characters. III/VI is just lovely for one of the more classic games, I like the story and the music there as well. XIII and XIII-2 are more for the music and characters than it is for the story, although XIII-2's is more interesting than XIII's story. (Not just because it happens afterward either, I rather fancy time paradoxes and the like)

Each game has its the particular. I do not differentiations game who is better than the other but simply savor the magic that offers each game. Every game breeds with its emotion and this constitutes my pleasure. Marry Christmas for all you

Final Fantasy VI: The story of this game is pure EPICNESS.

- The Antagonist is the most wicked of all the final fantasy history.

- Almost every hero you have, has a side quest so you will be able to know more about them.

- Every hero has their own specialization + they all can learn magic spells and summon Esper's.

- Lots of lots of AWESOME Esper's.

- In GBA Version you get few more Espers and new cool dungeons and THE SOUL SHRINE. *___*

- Arena/Colosseum It can be pretty hard, but it can be really fun too. : )

- The World Map(s) looks pretty simple, but sometimes simple its good.

- Lot of interesting monsters/bosses, some of them are really hard and some of them aren't. : p

- Lot of funny jokes and good side characters, example Ultros ; DD

Guess that's enough for now... ^__^

Honestly, I'd have to say that my favorite one is IV, though the one I consider to be the 'best' is probably VI.

If we allowed
all Squaresoft (and Squeenix) games though, it's Chrono Trigger, without a doubt. It's a real shame that the series died off.

Now that I think about it, this is one of those things where you really can't just say which one you like the most out of all of them, so much as you like which one of which generation. Thinking like that, this is my list:

8-bit: Final Fantasy I. If we count remakes, then I'm for III on the DS.

16-bit: IV, no question. Even if VI was better. The DS version just reinforced this even more.

32-bit: Tactics, with IX pretty close behind; I'd love to see a crossover with them both, and I swear I'd drool like a frothing madman over seeing Agrias and Beatrix together.

From there out, I don't really have any favorites, although there are some that I liked regardless of the butthurt that some fans had. DIrge of Cerberus was fun, since it really helped deepen Vincent's characterization a lot, although I'd have liked to see his other limits available as well. That, and less of his love interests apart from Lucrecia being teenage kids. The Captain Planet scene was plain awesome as well. I tried XII and XIII, I swear, but I just couldn't get into it. The only other PS2 one I kind of liked was X-2, and that's mostly because I thought the Charlie's Angels dynamic was hilarious.

I only like the older FF games my favorite probably being the revamped 1 & 2 dawn of souls that was released on the game boy advance in 2004 I just cant stand the direction FF went in but apparently it was a good choice because everyone else does ahhh.... the woes of a retro gamer

It really is Final Fantasy VII for me for many reasons. It was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played. Even though Cloud and his friends are probably one of the weirdest line ups I have ever seen in  a game it somehow still works. It has all sorts of different things going for every character with all their different backgrounds. Pretty much every type of drama going on at some point some heart hitting things as well as having a bit of humor in their too. I absolutely love the soundtrack. I love fighting the battle scenarios which have great graphics will admit that in the open world they do look a bit like Lego bricks but the scenery looks almost like a beautiful painting and has and the incredible atmosphere the game generates. There is just so much to do and see and it really does feel like the adventure of a life time not only the best Final Fantasy game but one of the best games in gaming history

My favorite Final Fantasy is VI. I really enjoyed the story and the music that accompanied it along the way. My next favorite is Final Fantasy 10, again having an enthralling story that I enjoyed so much that I felt it necessary to get the sequel for closure, and both were fun to play. My third favorite is Final Fantasy XII, but this time, not because of the story, but because of the Cosmic amount of lore, background, and character information stuffed into it, as well as the spectacularly composed music tracks and the battle system.

Other runner ups are Final Fantasy I, II, IV, and VII. With the exception of II, I haven't beaten the others listed. VII was fun, but over hyped, like my opinion of Diablo II.

I've played most of the Final Fantasy series, and I have to say IV is my favorite. I love the characters, Cecil in particular
Spoiler:
and his redemption was very emotional for me
. It even made me cry, when
Spoiler:
Palom and Porom were turned to stone.
I highly recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played it, or if they're new to the Final Fantasy games. It has a good storyline, excellent characters, an utterly loathsome villain, and the world it's set in is very well done.

I'd probably range between FFX, or FFVIII, no offense to those who liked the 13 series, or the x-2 game, but I try to pretend that neither of those exist, i'm ready to move forwards onto what I hope will be better writing.

In all honest opinion, I hadn't played any of the NES or SNES Final Fantasy games and the only ones I've played was VII-XIII (Except Final Fantasy XII which I think was an Online only game and my computer isn't probably that good to play the game.) With all do respects, personally the one I actually think  engaged in the most had to be Final Fantasy X because that was at the time the only Playstation 2 game I cared for. Final Fantasy X-2 is a different story in my opinion since it has a bit of a different Battle system and it seemed to lack the quality that the first one had than. I don't know about you, but I find Titus to be a likable character. He also appeared as a Cameo in the First Kingdom hearts as a Kid and a fightable opponent. The others such as Wakka and Yuna all seemed like interesting and unique characters on their own. Also while I'm on the subject matter, Aaron is probably my favorite for the oddest of reasons. He even Returns as a Party member in Kingdom Hearts to pay respects to him, though he was in the Underworld which seemed awkward, but then you have to realize Cloud also was a Character in the Olympus Coliseum, so regarding that, it makes a bit of sense.
The game in a whole has a Battle system that I can get used to and it feels fresh and new, though I may admit that the way you leveled up your characters seemed really off to me, but I got used to it. The story seemed fine to me though sometime it felt off. I Liked the range of new weapons that you could buy and Equipment was good, also the feature added in to the equipment was you could add custom stats for it with specific items. It actually in whole is pretty great that you could change up your stats on specific objects. Also, the music in this game was probably some of my favorite, and I loved that Battle Theme. Pumped me up for the next battle ahead.
All in All, this game stood out the most to me. I've beaten this game even more that I could say for all of the games on here I played. It's fun and a unique experience. I think people should defiantly play it from start to end, well... if you are like me.

My favorite Final Fantasy game was Final Fantasy VIII. It had the best story line, the characters were cool, the GF system was great, and the draw system was interesting.

FFIX. The summonings were awesome. Later games in the series had commendable changes that made the games interesting but I think FFIX nailed it regarding summoning. Also, I enjoyed the storyline and minigame elements the most in FFIX. It kept things simple and engaging without getting too complicated or reaching too far. That being said, I have enjoyed some of the changes introduced in each new edition after FFIX. Ultimately I suppose it just comes down to when a person is most attached to the Final Fantasy franchise, and I have played almost every single Final Fantasy game since the original NES version.

Now that I have actually been able to see some gameplay of it, and learn of its existence, I would have to say that my favorite would be Final Fantasy Type-0.
