On particularly sad song, to me, is Hearts of the Innocent by Kutless. This song is more literal than most people would think. It can get you thinking about all the problems that our world is faced with, more than what we already know exist.

However, this song should not simply end with the listener crying him/herself to sleep every night (I've been there). Instead, this song should be a call to help those in need, whether they are the hungry, the sick, those who are unwilling to admit their problems, ... the Hearts of the Innocent.
