Have you ever gotten sick from eating something unsanitary?

I have once or twice. Don't trust street vendors

I'm not sure. Usually when I eat something, it looks clean. If I have, I didn't know that it was caused by that. Just today, I ordered Chinese food with my friend and he gave me some change so that I'd have enough. Turns out, I had enough money. However, instead of just putting the money in my pocket or just give it to my friend, I held onto it in my hand and I dropped it in the sweet and spicy chicken sauce (I don't know what it is exactly; Kool-Aid?). The quarter was dated 1993. It's been around for over least 17 years. Can you imagine all of the hands that that coin has been through and all of the things that it has touched? Crazy. I can't believe I ignored it.

After the meal, I got my fork and I recovered it from the Kool-Aid sauce. My friend told me to just throw it on the floor or throw it out; I was having none of that. We went to my house and I washed it and gave it back. Lol, good times.

I would Never eat something that was unsanitary . That would be Disgusting. And extremely out of character . So I would have to say "no".

No not that I can remember I always watch what I eat and make sure it's sanitary.

I think there has been only one time in my life that I remember where I've eaten something unsanitary. And intentionally at that. Several years ago my best friend and I were walking out of the fitness club and to my car, parked by a curb. As I approached it I noticed a chocolate frosting-covered donut lying on the pavement next to it, frosting side up and with no indication of it ever having been upside down. As if someone had dropped it and it landed that way. And it looked like a very recent drop, as it was still soft. I tell my friend about it and then pick it up. As we both get in my friend noticed that I had the donut in my hand. We begin driving, a this is the conversation we had, to the best of my memory:

Him: You picked that up?

Me: Yeah.

Him: Why?

Me: It still looks good.

Him: You're not going to eat that, are you?

Me: It's not dirty. Whatever particles were on it I brushed off.

Him: .....

I continue driving and a few blocks down the road I begin licking the icing off.

Him: Uhhh....what are you doing?

Me: The chocolate part isn't dirty. It never touched the ground so it's clean. It won't make me sick.

Him: Tom, throw that out now!

Me: It's still good! I won't get sick from it.

Him: ...Then say hello to Hepatitis B.

Me: ......

I stop eating the icing, rolled down my window and throw the donut out, along with whatever I had in my mouth.

Him: That's better.

I gotta say though, that donut did taste pretty good.¬_¬

About the topic, from eating something, hmm I think only once or twice. And aslo I got sick once from drinking non-filtered water, while we were on a school trip to the woods.

I haven't though I always recycle for food while hitch-hiking around Europe, because I just can't afford buying it all the time. And for example in Spain, the recycling culture is well-spread: I went recycling and there were old ladies about 80 years old digging in the bins as well! You just have to watch what you take. No old meat, but little "rusty" vegetables are okay. And bread is fine! etc etc.
But I guess it depends on the organism. My sister was very nauseus after eating recycled food, but I was fine.

Well, I once got really sick from eating a Cheeto I dropped on the ground on a playground. Worst choice ever, but hey, I was 6 years old.

I don't eat meat, eggs, or seafood so I have never gotten food poisoning from contaminated or undercooked stuff like that.

If I drop something on the ground outside (especially in a public place) I won't eat it. I can't be sure whats on the floor. However, if I drop something on my floor at home I might consider eating it since I could just take it to the sink and rinse it, and/or I know what's been on the floor

But no, I can't say I have been sick from eating something unsanitary. I've been sick before but it wasn't because of germs on the food.

I have never gotten sick, or had food poisoning, which is surprising for me. I have however picked up something off the floor/ground to eat it once or twice.

I once ate a few NErds off of the ground. I was sick for a week.

I remember getting pretty badly sick when I was on vacation on this one island (lol I forget which) when my family decided to eat at this one odd beach shack. The food was okay (just crabs and shrimp) but the place was horrible. There were flies buzzing around, trash on the floor, and MONKEYS on the roof beams. Needless to say, we all felt sick afterwards.

Cyro Xero : heh heh,thats funny.only food i ate of the ground were some sweets called hundreds and thousands i think.it was stupid but i scooped em up and ate them.didnt get ill though.
In general i ignore most use by dates and if somethings been left out the fridge all day i still eat it.i think the fact i cant remember when i was last ill has made me cocky.

Yes I did from my friend he had pizza that we ate and we both got the runs. I overall was kind of mad at him because he even knew that the pizza was old. Though it was kind of funny.

I disgust eating from outside..on the road all that... stuffs..I better eat on campus where there is hygiene

I think so.  I do not know if it was either having too much food or something.

anything of the sort but i have ate things off the ground.
altho only if it was in a wrapper.

i don't remember or not lol but i'm sure i have at least once :/
