Do you think we, as man kind, will ever be able to go to all these other Solar System and Galaxies?

Yes they probably have because there are millions of galaxies in Outer Space and one of them may be a universe that existed before our universe.

If you really want to blow your mind, read about the Multi-verse. It states that time isn't a line and there are infinite universes existing at the same time with infinite different outcomes from choices by infinite different beings existing in each universe. You can jump from one to another and back and forth.

It's mind boggling.

Also, I think the odds of there being another group of living beings is so incredibly massive there HAVE to be aliens out there. The real estates is functionally billions of planets. There's no way this is the only planet with some kind of life.

warmaker : They have discovered a planet about 20 light-years away they named Gliese 581g that could support life. They speculate that it is in a perfect position in it's system that liquid water could actually pool and support other living organisms.

Sephitard9001 : There's actually a debate about that. They haven't discovered it so much as predicted there quite possibly may be a planet there. Many scientist don't believe it really exists, but one guy, forgot his name, is trying to to prove that it does.

As far as the article goes, I'd still have to see a bit more info before I get very interested. But I did read in a magazine a couple years back a theory about how black holes might be creating other universes. All that matter being crunched explodes in another Big Bang, which may be how our universe began. I really don't like that idea because it would mean that we're simply inside a bubble. Yes, a 90-some billion light-year size bubble, but it gives the impression that our universe is a cage. And I am skeptical that theory because I find it hard to believe that the mass of a star or two with a few planets, or even an entire galaxy for that matter, being sucked into a black hole could provide enough matter to fill another universe. At least one this size.

Then again, matter isn't really needed in a universe when all a universe needs to exist is simply empty space.

Cyro Xero : They aren't even sure about the cage thing either, because it's possible that the universe is still expanding I don't think we'll ever find out though, if it's been expanding since the big bang, just imagine how impossibly far away the edge would be. But yeah, the planet itself isn't 100% real, but it's extremely possible, and personally, I think it is real. If not this planet, there HAS to be another one in all of existence you know what I mean?

Sephitard9001 : According to Professor Watson from the School of Environmental Sciences says that the mathematical probability of finding life on an Earth-like planet is very low, because of the time it takes for organisms to evolve, which is four, to get to where we are. Single bacteria, complex cells, special cells capable of making complex organisms, and intelligent life. Also at the rate at which we are finding things in the universe, we have only gone a short distance into our own galaxy of finding other planets that are even semi-similar to Earth.

The possibility of finding life somewhere else is pretty high. Micro-organisms exist in at least the trillions here on Earth. As for intelligent life that's a different story. I highly doubt humans will encounter that before coming across small organisms.

Cyro Xero : Sorry for the sandwich post. I was implying just intelligent life, but I must have not put it in my post... so here it is.

Professor Andrew Watson says that structurally complex and intelligent life evolved relatively late on Earth, and in looking at the probability of the difficult and critical evolutionary steps that occurred in relation to the life span of Earth, provides an improved mathematical model for the evolution of intelligent life.

Some scientists believe the extreme age of the universe and its vast number of stars suggests that if the Earth is typical, extraterrestrial life should be common. Watson, however, believes the age of the universe is working against the odds.

This is just in response to a post very early in this thread asking if we think humans will ever be able to visit other galaxies. I would say no, simply because it is too far. The closest galaxy to ours is the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy, which is somewhere like 78,000-82-000 light years away. I don't think we will ever be able to travel the speed of light in the first place just because of the properties of light. While light is traveling and not hitting an object, it has the properties of a wave. To travel the speed of light, we would have to be able to make a ship, which is a solid object, be able to temporarily no longer have the properties of a solid, but a wave. Not only that, we would have to find a way for it to make it to where all the people inside can switch from the properties of a solid to the properties of a wave, and everything be able to revert back to the property of a solid again. This defies a lot of logic already. So the only way we could ever travel to the closest galaxy is to build a massive craft that had enough food and resources to support people for likely millions of years. That craft would also have to have enough fuel to keep traveling for millions of years with no possibility of stopping to get more resources (because the next planer we could try landing on is in a galaxy 80,000 light years away. So unless someone was somehow able to find a way to make metal and humans be able to become a wave temporarily, it is not going to happen.

Wow, that's amazing. I'd love to be the first to explore it lol, but that won't happen.

Of course, it may not be true.... but this is really cool if it is.

That's interesting. I'm not sure how to interpret the fact that our universe is just another in the never-ending "cycle" of universes, even with "evidence" like this. It may or may not be anything special to take into account anyways. I'll keep this on watch. x3

rcarter2 : That is a very interesting way of looking at it. Also, if what you say is true, than it will still be impossible. If we were to take on the properties of a wave to travel the speed of light, it would still take 82,000 years to get there. And I don't think waves can give birth. So that voyage would be pretty much doomed to begin with. Unless somehow taking on wave-properties made you immortal. Then the astronauts would go insane from living that long. Everyone on Earth would be dead like 500 million times over.

Sephitard9001 : Even though there is no way of testing it, Einstein had a hypothesis on humans traveling at the speed of light. He hypothesized that if a human traveled at the speed of light, time around time would speed up around him. What he meant by this is that what would be days to the person traveling that fast would be years to the universe around him. So that person would reach his destination a few days older and everything else is years older. Again, that is just an a speculation from Einstein that we can't test.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
