Out of all the Zelda games? It's the friggen Boomerang, definitely. I mean, it's practically your secondary weapon, and without it you wouldn't be able to pass a lot of obstacles.

In my opinion, the best item is something you get indirectly: the bomb arrows in Twilight Princess (and in Link's Awakening, if you know how to do it). They made me feel like I had a rocket launcher, even though they were Zelda games.  -------------------- |

Boomerang was always my favorite. The double boomerang that you used as a Zora in Majora's Mask was the best by far. The Biggoron sword was epic too.

I would say the Golden Master Sword in Link to the Past. It made shinies when Link swung it, and shot frickin' laser beams when he was at full health!!!

I always wore the Zora Tunic throughout the game just cause I like the color blue. 
Long Hook shot, the bow and arrows, and Megaton hammer were the best items in Zelda considering you needed them all to complete most of the levels.
