My favorite character is *drumroll please*

Tails; It was Shadow (or silver), until I saw Season 3 of Sonic X?

Why do I like Tails? 

He's a very relatable character for me, he's somewhat shy (until you start talking about something he really takes intrist in), his levels of skills are very focused, he's a humble and very practical character, and he's not a dead beat, heck he's the exact opposite. 

Also he looks cute with his fwuufy tails. ^^

The story of tails is a very great, and drastically horrid story really. It begins with a Small fox that is abused and bullied for liking mechanics at a young age, his parents possibly just left him to fend for himself because he had two tails, or something of the sort. Anyway, he sees a blus hedgehog Save the world from Doctor Robotnick and decides he wants to become cool, just like Sonic.

So he begins following Sonic and offering help, Sonic of course accepts because of tails usefulness (flying and the ability to pilot the tornado) and he feels for the kid. and Tails begins to idolize Sonic.

Fast forward To Sonic adventure in Tails theme song, it says... 

"If I follow just you, I will not see the light
Now's the time to find my way through, to get a hold of my life"

This it shown in the very end of tails story in the game, where he is separated from Sonic and single handedly saves Station square, and defeats Dr.R. 

This is also further shown on a lesser scale in Sonic Adventure 2, where Sonic (from what Tails can see anyway) dies, Tails life buddy is gone just like that, and just before he dies, Sonic asks tails to do something for the first time.

So from Sonic 2, to Adventure 2, Tails learns how to stand out for himself and do great things. Even Eggman envies Tails for creating that fake emerald.

But this is only the beginning, where the story truly begins is Season 3 of Sonic X

Another foe rises up against Sonic and his friends called the metarex, and nothing out of the ordinary really happens, there is a greater force of evil shows up to get it's butt kicked by Sonic, right? it's happened in sonic adventure 2, sonic 06, and Shadow the hedgehog so why is this any different?

Well, first of all, I can't really show why I like tails so much, until I bring Cosmo onto the stage.

Basically she's a plant person that crash landed on Mobius and Travels with sonic and co. to defeat the metarex, and along the way, falls in love with tails.

Yeah, I know what you are thinking; how could tails ever fall in love you're thinking, I though the same way, but this... this was totally different, this wasn't another sonally or a Tailona thing, these were two people that just wanted to please each other in any way possible.

Anyway, some metarex battles, finding the truth out about the metarex and Cosmo's past, and a giant cannon, and (very important) a can of anti-english dubbing later. we have the greatest Sonic story ever told about one of the most fragile characters in the series heart filled, and then torn apart all inside of 26 short episodes.

If only we would have had a season 4, I would have likes to see tails cope with the loss of the one dear to him, and sonic on the biggest guilt trip in the world, and have him see his buddy slip into depression and become a shadow copy before finally accepting things for the way they are. (and even after accepting things, becoming a shadow with the pain, but not the hate.)

I would have Shadow (hint: THE CHOSEN ONE) as my favorite character, but Tailsmo beats it hands down.

This is also why I like the Sonic series in general, it had very serious and involving characters even though it's portrayed through 3 foot anthropomorphic animals, like Shadow and Tailsmo.



Also, why do people like characters for what they can do? Isn't it about what they are that makes them who they are, not what they can do?

My favorite Sonic character would of course be S.. Knuckles the Echidna.

tails and metal sonic...which one was in sonic heroes? metal overlord?

tails because he can fly and is great with technology and metal sonic because he...flight, advanced strength (robot after all), copy the abilities of other people. heck, with that power alone i wonder if he could best all the reploids of the mega man universe.

mike345 : The only two characters that I actually know personally are Sonic and Tails. Out of those two I would have to say Tails because he seems like my type of guy. (From Sonic colors) Sonic seemed a little more like a braggart while tails seemed like a better friend. Really, sonic was good too, he just got a little prideful sometimes.

My favorite is actually rouge, I don't know why but I really like rouge as a character. And there's also shadow, I usually saw those two together and I kind of gotten used to the two duo.

Metal Sonic. Because he is actually COOL.

I would say silver the hedgehog from sonic 06 since well he is a psychic and that's really cool...

I honestly like shadow, he's evil at first but then becomes good. I respect that

My favorite Sonic character is Shadow the Hedgehog. There's just something so mysterious about him, and it makes him look so cool. Yeah, I'm a fanboy, so? Sonic comes in a close second, but he will never beat Shadow.

My favourite sonic character is just Sonic. I don't know much about his game personality but his Cartoon personality was good,and I enjoyed that.

I personally liked Shadow. I think he had a really rough past, and was confused and conflicted as to how to approach things. I played all of his background story games. Also I think his personality is cool, calm and collected, where as Sonic is just loud and annoying xD

Even though I think she was introduced in sonic 06 my favorite sonic character would be Blaze because she is one of my many video game crushes.

Sanic is my favorite character because you GOTTA GO FAST. Nah, I like Shadow, even though the amnesia thing is in almost every game he is in.

My favorite Sonic character is Knuckles.  He's one of the strongest of Sonic's friends, glide in the air, and is the protector of the Master Emerald.  I just don't like how they made him in Sonic Boom.

Sonic himself. I just said this in another thread, but you can not beat the originals.
