The PS3 games have amazing graphics, and the online is free, but both of my friends who have one told me that the connection is pretty bad at times, and system and game updates take forever. The 360 has great internet capabilities, the updates usually take seconds, or minutes if it's a big one. Plus, the Elite version of the system has an insane amount of memory, at 250 gigs..and theres even hard drive connector wires that allow you to use two hard drives for even more memory. And of course, it is cheaper.

I think both systems have good things about them. I will say that I personally think the PS3 is the better buy right now. Not only do you get a great gaming system, but it doubles as a blu-ray movie player, and playing online games for the system is free. So you save your self a bunch of money and get a blu-ray player too

I would pick Xbox 360 over PS3. I didn't even know PS3 had a Blu-Ray Player. What I've noticed is that Sony is the only company that has to advertise the system. Well it is a matter of taste if you like ps3 or xbox360 better.
If you don't mind paying a little more money for a system with great graphics and a blu-ray player and don't care about lousy online collections pick ps3.
If you want to pay a little less and don't mind paying for online play (or don't play online at all) and having a big risk of the red ring of death but having access to great games such as Halo pick the xbox360.

I prefer the ps3.
