Try a different browser. Sometimes that can be an issue. Also, some N64 games just don't work on this site. An end to that is not coming anytime soon since David already has a ton of work.

Chrome seems to be the most stable browser to ply games here.

When it showed the black screen, did you click at that black screen and yet nothing happened? Are you getting any game sound?

Which games are you playing, I'd like to give them a try and see if I get the same error

To know your video card:
XP: open windows explorer, then right click on my computer, then click on properties. At the top of the System Properties window that opens, click the tab titled Hardware.Then click the button labeled Device manager. You will be presented with a list of all the components installed on your computer.

Vista: Select the Start menu at the bottom-right of your screen. Choose Control Panel.
In the window that opens, double-click the control panel titled System. If there is no item titled System listed in the Control Panels window, click the link in the upper-left of the window titled Classic View. The System Control Panel icon should now be visible to the right. Double-click it to open the System Properties window. At the top of the Control Panel System window that opens, click the tab titled Hardware.Then in the upper-left of the window, under Tasks, click the link labeled Device manager
