Hey People,

I want to start this petition thread for people to sign to ban Rip-Off in store trade prices for used video game/systems, i have just come back from GameStop (which this thread is for) and tried to trade in my NDS, i got it working for the amount of time i need needed then, and when i get to the price for when i have the credit? $30.00! So I thought that was a bit COMPLETELY WRONG, and decided to check the price of a used DS of the same kind, used, and wanna guess the price? $120.00!!!! So I wait a while, try some new tactics to get it (taking $20.00 of my brothers CoD: BO game(wouldn't allow it without him.)) and eventually decided to put it on my card. Then while i was waiting, my dad showed up and I told him to wait a minute so I could do that, and he was wondering why, since i was there for about an hour. He then decided, after the reason why i said just to wait a minute, to go in and complain. After that, I started to think I was a bit embarrassed... Till I found out how badly I've been RIPPED OFF IN THE PAST!!! I found out I got ripped off $4.00 on the pokemon battle revolution, and my brother was ripped off $3.25 o his CoD4: MW game. (But he was ripped off anyways, with it being $6.50/$9.75 in credit.) So now, I don't have my Sonic Colors, I still have my DS, and im going to have to look for jobs I can do to get get the d*** money for the game. It would mean a lot if you guys could join me in the petition thread over this OUTRAGES offense that i have been burdened with.

I have never had this bad of an experience here. I have been ripped of before buying a game that was already poor quality then the game was also broken and they would not pay be back. So I sign

I agree, and I sign the petition. Once I sold a perfectly good Yugioh game to Gamestop and they only offered $2 for it. Yes, you read that right. 2 measly dollars.

I would, if I didn't get great deals from GameStop. I have never really been ripped off to be honest, as I know what I'm doing. If you want a certain price, go to eBay! =)

I think sometimes I wish I had gotten a little more, but it is not a huge deal to me. I'm pretty happy with the majority of my deals.

I sign too, because i one time buy the used game, they say that there game in it and i payed $10, when i came home, i look in and there was NO cd in it, i was like went back and they wont give my money back! so i NEVER buy game from gamestop AT ALL!

It's not only Game Stop, but other game stores too. I guess I'll sign, not like it'll do anything though. :/ I wish they would pay more. At first I thought their used game prices were good, but when I found out how much they were actually making, that made me a little PO'd.

It's not really a rip off if you think about it. They have expenses to make, have to pay for the shop and workers there. It would be pointless for a shop to buy an item for $30 and then resell it for that same amount. I've sold things at game force once and yeah they pay cheap ($5 for N64) but if your really desperate to sell the game might as well just give it to game stop And they are not forcing you to sell games thats up to you.

Even though Ive never traded in a game at Gamestop, I'm considering it, and I'm not too impressed about the $$$ they pay you back for trade-ins...

I traded in a perfect Silver PS2 a couple years back waiting for a PS3 with a all cords, a controller and a memory card. $30. Yeah. I traded in New Super Mario Bros. Wii a couple months after I got it, because it was boring. $35. Yeah. $20 for NCAA Football 2011. This is insane!

I have to agree with legacyme3 and JigSaw, plus all stores like this are under a company policy to pay no more then a certain price for a used game, and that if they can they should pay even less then even that rate.
If you dont like the amount they are willing to give you, sell it online.
Cause honestly, if you are selling it to someone that is going to resell it you should realise you wont get a good price.
Meanwhile I never sell games, if they arnt worth owning I know within a few days, and around here that's normally still within the returns period...

I have to sign i had bought 2 games for $30 each then i had the recepit after i beat bolth and they would only pay me $4 for each game with the receipt, They had no damage but i still buy some games from them because they have some good deals with some games.

I need to sign too! okay so I was trading in my street fighter 4 for super street fighter 4 and and i think i got three dollars for the trade in, the game was still fairly new too!!!

I am so singing this. so I sold a game of mine that I had beat and there was nothing else to do with it. they gave me like $7 for it and when I was leaving the store I saw the game: USED for $30. when I took a look at that I went WT*!!!!!!!!! after some time on youtube I was watching foamy the squirl stuff and he mentioned game trade-ins and his advice worked (the first few times) but ya I'm signing this thing

Everyone! This is called "capitalism." They're a business. They need to make as much money as they can. What I suggest is this: If you don't like their business practice, either open your own store and compete with them or don't go there any more.

They buy low and sell high. A petition won't stop it. People go in of their own free will. It sucks but it's what there is to offer.

Offer to buy games for 5-10 dollars and sell them for 25-30 dollars. That will make you some money and help people out.

It's just business. I cheer Gamestop on.

That's the thing, man. They are not there to give you a huge amount of money for it. If you want to make more money on it, try selling it on Ebay. Gamestop is doing you a favor by buying it from you. It isn't called "buying your game for what it is worth" it is called "trading in your game."
Either suck it up or sell your games in other manners, like Ebay and related sites. Watch out with Ebay because it very well might be bought for less than you would have made trading it in.

By the way, I'm not trying to be mean, but Gamestop doesn't give a flying crap about some petition thread on a free games thread board. They make their money and if people don't like it, they don't use Gamestop. Unless you find some severely wrong thing they are doing, you can't touch Gamestop.

yeah i know what you mean i bought a really expensive game in a year or so i traded it back i got a 25 CENT! so i sold it on e-bay

I once traded like 20 perfectly good PS2 games a few years back and got 11 bucks. I didn't trade them, and I went somewhere else.
