A feature which has been demanded for years, threads now Automatically mark themselves as read once you click them and they'll be marked as unread as soon as a new reply is made to the thread.

To see what I mean, go into a forum, notice all the 'New' icons to the left? Now click a thread, refresh that forum page, notice how it's no longer marked as 'New'?

This was a complicating feature to implement due to the possibility of putting a TON of strain on the server. I've successfully made this feature without any noticeable server strain.

Cool nice to see this added. However I see a few bugs, one being it does not mark as read when you visit the new reply page. Also it does not work on the new posts page either.

EDIT: not sure if this is related to this feature but I've come across a few max execution time errors in past few minutes. I guess we will have to wait and see if others get these as well.

I think this feature has another bug, septembern stated guests can't see any threads in any forum you might want to check that out.

I added back the ability to mark forums read and to mark all forums read. On the index page there wont be a New symbol next to a forum that has unread threads but instead the date of the last post made in that forum will be a lighter and a little redder. this isn't a big deal... but the "new" in the extended view only goes away once you hit "mark forums read".... not a big deal, but it would be nice if there are no unread thread in the forum then that new should go away.
