I prefer Microsoft over apple because I know how to use windows Xp through windows 7 very well. If you give me a Mac I'm totally lost.

I'm pretty much lost on a Mac as well (I got one recently), but it's not too bad once you figure it out. It's very dependable and durable. The power cord uses magnetism, making it harder for something to break, amongst many other things.

As far as Operating Systems go...
I'm on a Windows Vista PC typing this right now. I just prefer Windows, I dunno why, it's just what I grew up with. Is has a less formal style to it, whatever that may mean . When I was a kid a had Windows 98 to play all my Tonka and Disney games on. It seemed easy for a 4/5 yr old so... yeah.

Macs are what the school district buys, so that's what all our computers at school have been running on since forever. I very well know the ins and outs of both OSs, but I prefer PC.

Truthfully I'm glad I grew up on Windows. I'm not going to start any Mac vs. PC wars here, save that for another thread But RGR only works with Windows (correct me if I'm misaken), same with a good deal of other programs. Though Machintoch computers were kinda ahead of their time back in the day, Windows somehow still are more common household computers today (maybe for their much cheeper price range?)

Now, back onto what should be the topic: Products. As we all know Microsoft has the Xbox 360 as a gaming system. Apple has, well, the iTouch/iPhone, which can't really be considered a gaming platform. So Microsoft is a better gaming company at least, however Apple has one crucial success - the iPod (duh). Microsoft created Zunes, which has had nowhere near the success the iPods have had.

Bottom Line: Windows is the best OS and gaming system, Apple has the best portible device... Ehh, I'll save it for the fanboys to argue out. All in all I prefer Microsoft.

I prefer Microsoft, their computers are a lot easier to use in my opinion, and like housechef I know Microsoft computers well so if I switched to a Mac I'd have no clue what I'd be doing. Macs are too complicated and annoying. By the way, this doesn't seem like the most ideal forum for stuff about computers...

I pick Microsoft because thats what I grewup on and still use today. I dont hate apple I just dont know much about them.

I'd rather use an apple computer, but I was grounded from it for messing it up. Oh well, that's what I get for downloading random software on any OS. an iMac is as good as any windows 7 machine. Windows seven's task-bar looks like mac's dock, which was taken from NeXTSTEP (made by apple computers, just sayin') I personally have no love for the Xbox 360, so I have nothing to say there, other than the controller for an Xbox 360 is hard to play for Nintendo players. I mean, seriously. I keep pressing the B button when I try to press A.
Anyway, I never owned an iPod, so I can't say anything there either. Also, does vizzed have an MS-DOS emulator? No, they have an Apple II emulator. Final answer: Apple.

P.S. Apple made the first GUI system, which the let Microsoft use.

Microsoft overall is the better computer. I mean it is faster and can actually play games where as Mac can not do as much stuff.

I personally like them both.

Windows is good for gaming and many websites are built for it.

Macs are good for other media such as music and video.

billythekidmonster : Not true. If you search for open source things on mac, you'll find TONS of things. Also, it's free. However, I'm not sayin' windows stinks. It does have more apps overall and it has the RGR plugin.

I say Microsoft because of their successful line of computers. It's also faster, better and #1.

I prefer Microsoft. I've always used Microsoft based systems. When I've tried out Apple computers I've never really liked them. It's like Apple tries too hard to be "hip" and that just bugs me. And I can't stand the people who go on and on and on about how amazing Apple products are.... I don't care

It honestly depends on the application when it comes to the OS, however there is a flaw to me in Apples. I can't really do much to customize my machine. I can't build an apple computer from scratch (at least as far as I can tell) and know exactly what's in it and what can be upgraded. Also since only Apple makes Apples last I saw there were only a few choices as to the machine you could get. It's more or less the same problem I have with laptops.

Apple does have some good software built in, and if you are going to use that software I'm sure they are great machines, however, beyond that it gets tough for me to pick Apple over Windows.

I prefer Microsoft, given the viruses and the threats, and all the crashes, I like it for it's easy use, and it has PC games, and you can hardly find any MAC games, it supports the RGR, and a bunch of other reasons.

I prefer Windows over Mac. Macs are just confusing, and I never got used to them. Microsoft in general is easy to use, so easy that I learned a lot about it when I was just a wee lad.

microsoft all the way like vizwiz said they are just confusing as all get out. Also they have more versatility with programs and downloadables from the internet.

I love Microsoft. And I hate Apple. Apple only works with Apple. Once you get one Apple product, you need another Apple product to use it. It's a snowball effect that is leading to a monopoly. If Microsoft ever dies out, Apple will take over. Doubtful, but possible.

Microsoft is the best....I like the way Apple computers look, but that's about it.

I've had Microsoft ever since purchasing a computer...never had a problem.
