As for the shortest game ever (excluding educational games, online games, and fan-made games, etc.), I believe that the original Super Mario Bros. is a good candidate. With the many shortcuts inside of it, it can end in about 5 min.

I Love ICO for the ps2,The only thing wrong with that game was it was way too short.My first playthru was about 12 hours,But after i learned the puzzles i can beat the whole game in just a few hours.
