I think this fits more to "Video Game Controversy" forum, than to general forum. So I'll move it there.

As long as the idea of thought controlled games, I feel excited. Because since I've started playing video games, I was dreaming of a video game, which wouldn't need any controllers, except your thought. But there are lots of people, who think that this might harm people, just think of matrix-movie and how people died in real world, if they were dead in the matrix world. But I don't believe those kind of things. But who knows what will happen in the future.

As for my thoughts, I think this sounds awesome. Using your brain to complete video games instead of your hands and such is good. No controllers = AWESOMENESS. Like noelia, even though some say this might harm us, I disagree because I don't believe in that.

Playing with just using your mind would be awesome. That's something I could get into (instead of motion controls) but I'd still prefer my hands most of the time most likely

This is something that I have been thinking about forever. You get in a suit and literally run around in something that keeps you still and then you have a screen in your visor helmet thing that acts as the screen. Then you can feel hints of pain to tell you that you are getting hit by something and can pick up stuff you see in the game and feel it with the suits, sensors. Cool idea huh? Works best with shooters.

billythekidmonster : They actually already have a suit like what you're describing. Personally I would not want to feel pain while I'm trying to relax and play some video games

Zamiel : The pain is very minimal. Just lets you know that you are being hit it isn't like bullet pain. I never knew that they already had these suits, my bad.

P.S. Sorry for the sandwich post.

I could really get into Kinect if I had the money to get it. I'll just stick with the Wii for now, until I can make enough dough. I think that the 3DS will be something to look for as well.

adrian1984 : Well, I think games have come a real long way by leaps and bounds since I was a kid. There is more realism to games now and, in the case of sports games the graphics and presentation of the games continue to improve where it’s almost like playing the real thing. I can only assume that gaming will continue to evolve and get better with time.

I think as gaming continues to evolve it will only give detractors the excuse that it diminishes the intelligence of our youth. I disagree strongly with that. Games are great for comprehension skills and I feel that instead of some people outright dismissing games as too violent and or too realistic that they should look at the benefits of gaming.

In terms of consoles, PS3 is by far the most advanced system I’ve ever seen. If they ever do come out with another console (Which they probably will) I think one thing that needs to be adequately addressed is the hardware flaws that have hampered both PS3 as well as Xbox. Personally, I have not played PS3 since May due to the YLOD and even after I got it repaired by a console repair shop, I was told that the console was pretty much useless and that the only thing I should do is to hang onto it and after I buy a replacement transfer my game data to the new console. I don’t know if it’s necessarily fair to pull the infamous conspiracy card but it seems like it is a major flaw that has not been adequately addressed to me at least.

I just hope that with my new Slim model that this will be the last time I ever have to worry about the YLOD. Before PS3 I have never seen a console die as I still have my NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PSone and even, my Artari packed away and all those consoles got a lot of use believe me and I never had to replace one. Though I did send my PS2 to Sony years ago to repair a laser problem but that wasn’t a case of the console dying.

I understand that a company needs to make money but with faulty consoles or the potential of consoles to break down no matter what the user does, it can’t be good for business especially in an endless recession where people can’t get jobs and the unemployment rate is in the double digits nationwide.

In terms of PC gaming, I would like to see more integration with consoles and more features.

adrian1984 : I agree with a LOT of stuff in the article. I agree that there is a possibilty to hack the new system, just like any other internet-based system.

However, I also agreethat we aren't as close as people think to having this technology available for gaming or possibly even public use! Additionally, I like to think that they wouldn't release a system that could allow for brainwashing and viral implantation(unless the government funded it ).

Regardless, I will probably not invest in it unless I'm convinced it's necessary to enjoy life. Who knows! it may be developed into the technology of a universal remote for your life!

I prefer the old way of playing. Staring at a screen, pushing buttons, cursing and giving birds to the game when I lose; that's gaming to me.

I don't like this idea too much... but it could open something INCREDIBLE. imagine this. sunglasses. you put them on. you're IN the video game. you are the character. you're playing mario. you wanna smash the mystery block? then you jump. if you die, you find yourself back in the real world and all dying did is knock the glasses off your face.

neither do I! I WANT video games to stay they are now with uh... minor improvements (yeah that's it.) I only said incredible because it would be such an advancement in technology, as is this.

I think it would be awesome if it felt like we were in the video game world.

Besides that, video games should stay the way they are.
