dude if u get an emulator and have your computer hooked into a TV and use a gamepad your computer will basically morph into a nes right before your eyes, and you can have just about every nintendo game ever made and lots that were never put on a cartridge (hacks)in about 10 min with a good connection. To me thats the way to go, would say just use the RGR but I like full screen to much (though I do hear it is a feature for the future). |

If you can find one that works and isn't too expensive, it may be worth keeping around if you like that sort of thing. There isn't really anything quite like playing the original Mario games with the NES controller. --------------------  |

honestly, i think id def buy one if i could find a system that was still in mint condition...there's nothing like playin some duck hunt or mario brothers 3...those are some of the best of that system...you should do it  ____________________ |

I don't understand exactly guys, you can do all that stuff with emulators granted the only noticable difference especially with NES cuz its about 98% perfectly emulated is the controller and even then you could probably find a USB controller similiar enough because unless your actually looking at the nintendo while you play the difference to me is almost nil. I can see sentimental reasons for wanting it and I'd mayb even play it once in awhile, but remember first blow across then up and down and when you put the cartridge in don't push it all the way to the back and do push it all the way right and turn your NES on and off 15 times so the game will work. My point being yea if u do buy one make sure it is in good condition. |

I think it is.
Reasons: 1) The games are awesome. 2) The games are historical. 3) It's perfect for a collector. 4) It'll be part of your school curriculum by age 16 (Hopefully) There are a ton more.

Well lets see.. its an old system and all of the games can be played on other systems, such as the fact that you can download almost all the games on the Wii or even play a good portion of them here.

The zapper gun doesn't work properly on a lot of TVs. Something to do with how much the screen curves. Flat screens have horrible aiming detection. -------------------- |

I think you should get one. Sure, you could use an emulator (which would work for almost any game depending on the one you select), and you could hook your pc up to your TV, and you could get a USB NES controller (or an adapter for one), but nothing really compares to the retro feeling of the actual system and games .

I say, it's a cool thing to have and to show around, but I don't think it's really neccassary to buy one now because you could probably play most of the games on the computer, or buy the games off the Wii.
