The childhood show that we all loved (and one of the reasons I actually speak English ) is having a controversy.

They debut for a new season, but one of the clips have been taken down in preparation for the debut. The video is Elmo with guest star Katy Perry singing a duet.

I do think that the outfit was too revealing. It's not appropriate for a kids show. I don't know who was in charge of wardrobe that day but I'm not sure why they thought that was an okay style of shirt/top to wear.

I think the outfit wasn't good for Sesame Street.
Don't know who picked out her wardrobe, but they should have known better.

So Elmo's gonna have another play date with Katy, eh?

Umm...that was interesting...lol. I don't really think it should've caused a lot of controversy though, I mean her outfit is sort of revealing but nothing THAT bad, I mean if her boobs were hanging out of the dress basically, I'd say "WTH?" and agree with the controversy. But I don't really agree.

It's kinda funny when you think of almost everywhere you look in the media there's a sexual innuendo. They're so accustomed to it that they got carried away this time and forgot it's a kids' show.

I wouldn't say its a controversy, but I would also say its a wee bit revealing lol. But this would probably do more damage to little girls that watch the show, then to little boys who currently think girls have cooties.

I agree...This is absolutely inapropriate...Elmo running around totally naked is outrageous! It definitely encourages young boys to got out streaking around pretty girls!

But come on. 4 year olds watch Elmo, they're not gonna be looking at her boobs the whole time. They're going to be enjoying the song, which is actually sort of catchy.

I think that green color is horrible on her.

Seriously, though, I've seen Barbie outfits that were more revealing. The still looked like a prom dress sort of thing.

Yeah I don't really care about sesame street anymore since they made Oscar the Grouch nice, took Count Dracula out of it, and made the Cookie Monster into the Veggie monster.

But I don't think it was too revealing. I've seen more revealing clothes from the friggin Bratz. People are just trying to find more ways to make Sesame Street worse.

Oh - if you look carefully, everything from the silver 'necklace' to the top of the green is a sheer. There's no chance at all that she's going to have a 'wardrobe malfunction'.

Probly not the best role model out there but i see no controversy.

im kinda in the middle about this =/ it seems very inappropriate, yet at the same time, the right place to do it i guess. the reason why its inappropriate is because of the closeness to that falling off her chest. that and because i know a kids at my school who would watch that for 'certain reasons' who still watch those stupid baby shows. the reason why i don't think its inappropriate is because its a kids show, the boys wouldn't care for girls at that age,or pay any attention to 'whats hiding'. (sorry if that sounded a bit rude, ask me to and ill change it.) and the only ones affected are the girls who think they should dress like that cause of a kid show or that they think shes pretty. so im in the middle on this topic.

It wasn't as bad as I expected; certainly nothing a three year old kid has to be prevented from seeing. There is far more revealing attire at the beach or swimming pool.

I have no problem with the segment being pulled. These are little kids who make up the sesame street audience, not that much older than the toddler age group. Kids that young don't need to see anything revealing skimpy, they'll be seeing enough of that when they're teenagers.

See, I do think the outfit is revealing and all that, but it wasn't the top that got me, it was when they looked directly at her legs... WHY?
Do kids really need to see that? No. I don't know what the people were thinking there haha.

I remember first reading about this.I laughed hysterically. Why would Katy Perry be interested with sesame street? boggles my mind. As far as her outfit..I don't think it was too bad. she looks like a prettier brunette cinderella. however, the cleavage needs to be covered up! That's the only flaw I see with the outfit. if it wasn't for sesame street it would be fine..but this is a childrens show and her puppies are nearly falling out! Someone hand her a towel!

I was more was more worried about the song corrupting kids minds, I don't want to think of what the future will be like, I CAN'T TAKE POP, I JUST CAN'T (Poker Face is the only pop song I like...and only the Mario Paint version).

I don't get how the outfit was revealing, that god thingy (I forgot the name) from Ghost busters was more revealing and ghost busters was aimed at 9+ or something, which (I think only in the modern world) might be having "dirty thoughts".

And about Girls wearing cloths like that, there are 2 ways to explain

1 : They are already wearing cloths like that, barbie is almost naked in her shows with nothing but a bikini.

2 : Their parents would stop them and say "They are not old enough" which fits, that is why no kid have thoughts on driving the car, stocks, etc.

EDIT: I forgot to mansion about Rouge's outfit (Sonic ), it is more (can't find the word, it is not revealing, yet not "sexy") then that outfit, that didn't give me a perverted mind when I was 5-6 .
