Davideo7 : I agree with all the features you mentioned well maybe except maybe the ban. While I wait for the new layout features I will be editing coding to make my layout smaller and more readable.

I wouldn't even know how to make my own layout. You should make one that people can buy with vizzed points.

I know but I mean I kind of wish there were more options for layouts to use. Cause ones like me don't know how to even make a layout or how to code it in html.

Geldra : Yes we'll allow Trusted to make a layout without the editor but for everyone, for now on you'll only be able to use graphics hosted on vizzed but you'll have the ability to upload your graphics.

I summoned David because I sort of cheated his system without realizing it. I planned to fix it when I was done, but I can't edit any of my posts now. I'm assuming there's a daily limit.
I summoned JigSaw because this happened on your Vizzed Layout Programmers Signup thread, but I figured it might be easier to settle it here.

I kind of accidentally found a way to override your rule about layouts. I was experimenting with editing and previewing posts. It wasn't working. I copied the header text into the beginning of the POST text and the signature text into the end of the POST text. Now it works. I used some HTML formatting to design it in a way I liked. I clicked Edit instead of Preview once by accident, but I decided to go with it to see if it worked. The width was a little off, so I was going back and forth with Editing until it worked. Somehow I ran out of editing. I'm guessing there is some restriction on how many times I can edit posts for a day. It wasn't until after I couldn't edit anymore that I tested it in Firefox and IE and found it didn't work. I programmed it in Chrome. IE had an alignment issue and Firefox managed to change the navy blue background to neon green. I used RGB rather than a color name to edit the background color so I don't see how that happened.

Please let me know how you feel about this. Is it ok? Can I use it in the future if I can make it work in other browsers? Should I take it down when I'm allowed to edit again? Should I wait to use it until after JigSaw is done with his layout project? That kind of stuff.


I feel like I keep messing up now. I think I was the one who brought the signature mistake to your attention. I had been adding a signature by editing each post I did. When I made a thread about wanting to make a layout, I mentioned the signature thing, then that stopped working. I don't know that much about programming, but somehow I keep finding the little loopholes. This time I knew I couldn't leave the layout up, but now I can't undo it.

BNuge : Just wait until after JigSaw is done with the layout editor.

Davideo7 : What can/should I do about the one that's already posted? I can't take it down because I can't edit my posts. It's on JigSaw's thread so he could probably just delete the code in the post if he wanted.

We might need to alter this a bit... should we make it trusted instead of elite because that is what the layout specialists requirement is. If layouts can only be edited by elites then that means we are very limited to the amount of layout experts on here.

What we can do is integrate a simple mod feature right here on the forum if a layout is messing with the page in any way a mod can easily deactivate it or delete it without having to edit the code. 1 click is all it would take.

BTW: I've been at this layout editor for 4 days straight now, we are really close to launch.
