Job was a perfect man. Job was perfect because he had faith in God. God loved Job. Satan wanted Job, but God wouldn't let him have Job. The story of Job goes some what like this: Job was a perfect man. One day Satan asked God if he could mess with Job. God answered, "Yes, but don't kill him." So Satan tried to break Job's faith in God. First by, making his herds of sheep flee. Second by, making his wife leave him. Third by, making him lose his house and so on. Although Satan took everything Job had, Job remained faithful to God. Satan told God, "Keep him." (something like that) God rewarded Job for his faithfulness by giving more herds than the last, giving him a new wife, and giving him a bigger house.

The moral of the Job story is, though there may be tough days, never lose your faith in God. God is always ready to help you. Just pray and have faith in him and he will find a way to fix. The Lord says, " I shall never leave you, nor forsake you." Keep having in God just as Job did, and even Satan won't be able to touch you.

I wouldn't say he was perfect, but he was blameless as the Bible says, big difference. Another useful thing I took from the book is that when you're having a crappy day, never know. Maybe Satan is at it again with the same thing he did with Job. I think we'd be shocked if we knew how much that sort of thing went on.

A comparative story is that of Joseph in Genesis of how his brothers sold him into slavery to Egypt. He remained faithful to God despite his circumstances and was rewarded for it. Eventually he was appointed as the Governor of Egypt.

Joseph's story was one of the most interesting stories in Bible. He was really very very kind with his evil brothers(I was so angry with them, while I was reading this part of bible, I still don't get how they dared to sold their own brother!).
But although he had lots of virtues, I don't think he is perfect. Because in my mind, only God is perfect.

Take time to read the whole story of Job. I gave only a brief summary. The bible says Job 1:1 "There was a man in th land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one who feared God, and eschewed evil." The are many interesting stories in the Bible that we should read, but reading it and understanding it are to different things. To understand you must find the moral of the story. What is it saying to you? I hope all of read the Job story just to see what I was talking about.

Yeah, the story of Job can be some tedious reading. Also it can be tough to fathom why all that would happen to Job without any predication of any evil that he had done, until we understand the end-result. Satan's philosophy was that Job only loved God because of all the blessings that he had.

So God allowed Satan to take it all away, all but only spared his life, in order to test Job's love. This is humbling to know that God allowed it. Job remained faithful to God because his love wasn't predicated on his prosperity or well being. In the end, he was rewarded with double that was taken from him, and he gained a deeper understanding of the character of God.

Similar today is how God wants us to have a relationship with Him. When I look at my problems in light of what Job went through my perspective is broadened. It's humbling to know that whatever circumstances you experience in your relationship with the Lord that His plans are not for evil, but for you to trust in Him that He will pull through for you.

Through Job's life we can see that faith in God is justified even when our situations look hopeless. Faith based on rewards or prosperity is hollow. To be unshakable, faith must be built on the confidence that God's ultimate purpose will come to pass.
