I don't think your going to get an explosion from a cigarette on the ground, (you never know though, I've heard of musch weirder things) But I do find it a little rude when people just throw them on the ground, it's littering and I find it irritating to go or a walk and see cigarette butts everywhere. *Sigh* I just wish people would dispose of them properly if they are going to do stuff like that.

Trash cans are everywhere. If youre gonna smoke in front of someones house and they dont want it in their garbage its your responsibility as the creator of said smelly garbage to dispose of it. I had 1 friend...1 friend that carried a small plastic sammich baggie with him. When he was done smoking he would just put the butts in there and throw them away when he got near a can. It can be done and its on them to do so. The problem is though that since a smoker is committing such a selfish act in the first place why would they bother to throw away their butts. Ah hell. I just realized that this is creating a new thread and its not intentional! Anyhow.

I also hate when people do this. If you have a friggin addiction, do it in your own home when you're alone, that way you're not harming other people in the process.

Im a smoker,but im always very mindfull of where i toss my butts.I know they could cause a fire,thats one reason i never smoke in the house.Pretty soon im gonna quit though for my health.

gameface138 : My grandparents that smoke smoke in their house. My sister mostly smokes outside. My dad will smoke outside when he has a cigar. He doesn't really smoke cigars anymore, though. He also used to chew tobacco. I actually would play with the tins of those things when I was younger. Heh.

Pretty responsible of you to decide to quit, though. I'm neutral on the subject of smoking, but respect anyone who decides to take responsibility, and start getting on the path of quitting. Good luck.

I really don't like it. Smoking is just a sad thing that people do, it serves NO purpose! They are just making them selves sick and it is just over all bad. I also hate when people throw the butt's my way, yuck.

A.Like to spit gum on the ground in the middle of summer someone with brand new shoes (me)can step in this gooey stringy mess, that will take 5 billion years to scrape out of the soles of their shoe.

AND.....

B.Douches who just plain spit on the ground.It's soooo filthy. One day I was walking with a pair of flip flops om and snotty spit oozed up the hole that holds the thong in place. So nasty! Thank fully my Mom was there and she ran into Walgreen's and go me a new pair of shoes and some disinfectant.

I hate everything about cigarettes. The second hand smoke will be the death of me. Whenever I go to a family event on my Dad's side, everyone is smoking. The first half hour is rough but then I get used to it. When I get home, my clothes reek of cigarette smoke. It's so disgusting. The butts are almost as gross. Seeing them around just reminds me of the people who are throwing their lives away over something like that. I love how so many places are banning them now.

Hopefully a time will come when each town/city has a small park designated for smoking. Smoking anywhere else is a mandatory week in prison and $1000 fine. That would be nice and encourage people to quit. It sounds harsh, but it's still nicer than punishments for the other drugs that are just as dangerous. "Please quit" campaigns haven't done much. They may have reduced the number of smokers from this generation, but previous generations are still going strong and the second hand smoke is killing people from all generations. Serious punishments are probably the only way to get people to quit for good.

Well its littering which sucks, and it messes with my air which pisses me off. I hate it wwhen people smoke and when i fined wet cigarettes STUCK TO MY $80 SHOES.

The original statement though was about the butts being tossed around. I am very allergic to cig smoke. When I go to my friends house my jacket, hair, skin, everything smells like smoke. I literally have to go and shower every time I go there just to hang out. The point was that smoking IS bad for bystanders. Its bad for the people around you and the ones you love. They have to watch you suffer with all sorts of smoking related diseases later on. Thats fine and those are your decisions to make and live with. Its your right. Where your rights and all your fancy talk end is when your trashy butts end up on my lawn!

I hate smokers leaving their crap all over the place. It smells terrible and almost makes me fear poisoning when I ride my bike to the store!

I thought of an idea a few weeks ago: When I'm older and have a job that earns more that 85 cents a day (Yup, 14 years old and I have a job) I'm going to buy a spray can and anyone I see smoking, when they go into their house I would spraypaint the word "SMOKER" on their door/house.

It's an idea. Oh, and I've been through your story. It's really traumatizing.
