I haven't ridden by myself, but I was in one. We have been at a helicopter military base with our school, and they gave us the chance to get in one, and fly for a few metres, only.
I was so excited, I wish I could fly one by myself

I have ridden in a helicopter on multiple occasions. I went to a military college and was contracted to go in to Army after graduation. During one summer I went to Air Assault school and did quick landing and rappelling out of fast moving helicopters. That was really awesome stuff to do back then.

when i was like 8 or 9 me and my sister rode in one my moms stupid ex husband knew this guy that had one we all rode up to the mini mart and there was a chopper on the side of the freakin mini mart lol my moms ex parked got out n started talking to the guy n he told me n my sis to come over and he put us in the chopper n up we went we didnt fly anywhere we just went p in the air..do you know how cool that is when ur 8 or 9?i felt like i was the coolest kid alive that day lol

I have not gone in a helicopter or even near one, but I think really unless it's actually moving it's little more then a glorified elevator.
And when it's moving, well we already have planes so I assume it to be about the same.
They are interesting concepts because of the ability for them to stop mid air flight, but apart from that they really are just funny looking planes
