I own ah 360 and ah ps3 but i cant get enough of the games on here. Sometimes i wonder if the games from the nintendo sega gameboy era better than these newer games. Okay for example pokemon. Isnt this one of the most addicting games OF ALL TIME! With the exception of sport related games the 1990 era delivered quality games and 10 years later were still enjoying them. What is your favorite retro game and how is it better than the new stuff out.

FRANK305LIVE : I think that the reason they're addictive is because back then, they were a fresh idea and the developers knew how to make the games. Nowadays, video games will rip off of retro games and have the game be called something else. I also enjoy playing retro video games, they do seem to be better than the ones today. My favorite retro game is Super Mario Bros. I think what makes Super Mario Bros. better is it's originality and how the game was played. Nowadays, you will see Mario in every single genre of video games and it gets to a point where its just too much.

For me, it depends on the game. For example, I love pokemon and I spent lots of hours on my gameboy, but other games(such as snake) aren't so addicting for me.
I like both retro and new games. The 2 most important things for me, about every kind of game, are :a) to be interesting and b) to be entertaining.

I think for me retro games are addicting because they bring back so many memories and plus they were just so fun that you couldn't put it down. I don't know how many times I played through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game but I never got bored of it.

In the short term I get much more addicted to games playing for long sessions and such, that said, I've probably spent more time playing FFI and FFIIorIV more than any other games.

i would say retro is a 100% more addicting than the new games there fun and you play for a long time but you dont think about it all day

I have lots of different games, as well as systems from everybody, but I still find myself playing good old fashioned Nes games more than anything.

For sure, from PS1 and below are the most that I play/ am interested in .

I haven't really experienced retro games in my childhood (Im still a kid sort of) but I think that the classics that were very popular such as pokemon red and blue never get old, but non-well known retros are sort of boring. Some of the newer games like Modern Warfare, Halo, the new Maddens, etc, are so realistic and fun and they are making newer stuff like what the wii has done so I think I like the newer games. Though the classics are still good... thats why I go to this site.

Retro games have a certain charm to them. It's like listening to an old Kraftwerk album. It sounds almost silly by today's standards with its Nintendo-esque sounding beats. However, they were original. No other group did so much for electronic music. They were true pioneers. If you listen to them with the ears and open mind like back in the day, you can hear the magic as people heard it back then. However, what I think really makes such games so much fun and still popular to this day is the simplicity. Most of these games look very simple, yet, we can't pinpoint what makes them so everlasting. In fact, they are not even that simple. Many of the games have a story, a soundtrack, beautifully crafted (yeah I said it) graphics. Today, it looks pretty, but, it looks like it's trying to do too much. These retro games are games in the truest sense of the word. There's a purity to them is what I'm saying. Nostalgia (even though I did not know much about half of these games as a child) also plays a big role. Add it all up and whatever else you can think of and there you go: Magik!

Retro games are quite addictive and probably more challenging.well at least i find.
Most games today are simple rip off from one another copy the same style of game or characters and features and can get very repetitive also there a lot more glitch's.
Retro games how ever started all very little glitch's graphics not the greatest but for the lack technology i think pretty great what they were able to accomplish.Most of the retro games well started out mainly just for kids then expanded into more teen/adult and came widely popular very fast and most people i meet to this day rather the old school games vs the new school games.
To sum it up. yes i think retro games are more addictive then new games cause we play the new games and finish them and 90% the time don't play again or we trade it it or sell or give to a friend or something but we always go back to the retro games no matter how many times we beat it.But this is just my opinion some rather the new games for the graphics but this generation probably never even heard or played these retro games but if they tried it i think they would like it better or maybe not.
