My orginal first dated back when I was 4.  I know because I tried to make my character jump by actually jumping in my seat.  Then I figured out what the buttons where for.  You guessed it, NES 8-Bit system with Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt.  I ended up with more than my share on that system too.  I don't know how, but I have 2 copies of some games, and 3 of another.

The first handheld I had was a Game Boy Pocket, which died on me. The first console I had is a NES, then I got a PS1. I don't play on the NEs that much nowadays, since I have a PS1.

My very first console would be the ps2, man did I love those games. Well it's broken now, and there's nothing I can do about it.

I don't know if I already responded to this thread or not. I don't think so.

My first console was the N64. Great system.

Nintendo Entertainment System. It was my mother's when she was a teenager and she gave it to me when I was 2. The very first game I played was Super Mario Brothers. Good times. Good times.

While I can still remember playing "Super Mario Bros." and "Duck Hunt" on the Nintendo Entertainment System that belonged to my older sisters, the first video game console that belonged to me was the Sega Genesis. It was packaged with "Streets of Rage 2" and had been a Christmas present the same year that "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" was released. I can't believe that was almost nineteen years ago! As far as hand-helds are concerned, though, I was a proud owner of the original Nintendo Game Boy.

My first system was an atari 2600.  I had a father who had plunked countless quarters into arcade machines growing up and was overjoyed that he could now play his favorites at home on the television.  I grew up literally playing asteroids, pac man, and centipede on my dad's knee.  I had almost every system since, though during the Sega vs. Nintendo years I was a devout Nintendo fan.  This actually had the unforeseen benefit of leaving me a whole library of retro Sega games I never played that are totally new to me now.  Kinda cool.  Oh yeah, that original atari still works by the way, though it is stashed away for future generations in an airtight tomb in the basement along with the old NES, which also still works.
