I have a semi-problem with how the current friends list feature works:
People can add me to their friends list without me accepting them as a friend. It's annoying to be on a stranger's friends list. What's worse is that users I dislike have me added to their friends list. Besides that being slightly annoying, the thing I have a major issue with is that... Apparently these people can now start private chat with me. They don't show up on my "Who's Online" list since I don't bother adding strangers in return. Quite frankly, it's creepy and I don't like it. Does anyone else feel the same way? So, um, yeah. I didn't know where else to post this, so I posted it here. hopefully that is a feature that could be added in the near future. I agree that with certain members it could get very annoying that they can chat with you when you don't want to. Although, if people are harassing you or being otherwise offensive or inappropriate then report it to a mod/admin and we'll handle it.

The next release of CometChat will most likely have a block feature so we'll just have to wait until than. Their next release should be very soon, it actually should've been out by now but it has been delayed so it should be any week now.

I don't really find it irritating that users I don't like add me, because if they are nice enough to add me, then I like them. There are no enimies for me on this site, only the ones who choose to be my enemy.
BTW. If you click invisible and talk to people, telling them you'll be appearing offline, but will still be online, you could be offline to others, but online to your friends. I hope the next CometChat has a kick option for the Chatrooms, as I've said many times.

Well, that's not a problem for me. Lot's of people add me as a friend and I think that it's a kind of honor people considering you as a friend. So, I usually add them back, because I think it's a bit offensive, if I don't  .
But whenever they're becoming too rude, I turn the volume off (so I can't hear the notification sound) and I just ignore them. After a few minutes the problem is solved 
But a new feature about this, will be more handy, for sure.

noelia : I guess it is kind of flattering, but I usually take friends lists seriously. I don't want a list that says "Look at all these people that have talked to me once or think my picture is pretty" - I'd rather a friends list that says "Look at these people who are my close friends on Vizzed". Ya know? :p |

You can add your close friends as A+ online friends or with a special descr But that's only my point of view  . I'm not trying to convince you or something like that. I'm just trying to find a handy solution to your problem, untill the next features

It would be awesome if the request had to be accepted first, rather than having you just be added to their list.
Also, it'd be really great if there was a block feature.

Yeah, it does get pretty annoying. Especially when someone adds you for no apparent reason and then just spams the private chat, that is serious, since I deleted someone but he can still contact me and just spams the chat. I'm the kind of person who adds a lot of people, but only talks to a few of them since I know them best, I'm just too nice I guess =/

That's why my friends list isn't very big, I'm pretty serious about these friend lists too. Luckily for me none of the people who add me but I didn't add back actually chat with me so it's all good haha.
Someone did mention you could set yourself to invisible. You could still talk to your friends, you just have to start the conversations from now on I guess.
