I just dont see how the 3DS is worth $250-$300 (even if it does have metal gear solid as a confirmed game and a star fox 64 remake). Whoa, whoa whoa Nintendo! If that price is correct... or if the thing costs more than $200 or so... sorry, Nintendo, but you ain't getting my money. Closest you'd get is a used one. I really don't see why they would charge that much, I mean yeah it's got glasses-free 3-D, but they only charge $200 for the Wii! If it's that high, rest assured I will wait quite a while before getting one... USED.

Well now that i have looked into it more, I realize this isn't another dsi gimmick things, the graphics even surpass the ps2 (i would post some screen shots but i would have to find em again). so i think i will buy one when it comes out, also the fact that there are 31 games confirmed and i like most of them doesn't hurt

You guys think you have it bad, $200 is the price of a new DSLite in Australia and the DSi is more like $250.
And all of these started at approx $300 each anyway. So these 3DSs will probally be $500 at release here. That's the inflation we have to live with 
Anyway, I think the 3DS is a rip off in any case, it's just a PSP with a fancy eye trick, that's all.

They're stupid if they price a handheld the same as it's console counterpart. Nintendo's on shaky enough ground as it is. I could understand making it a little more expensive, but putting it around the same price as the Wii? That's just wrong.

I always thought the reason that Nintendo has dominated that handheld market is because their systems are so cheap, and now all of a sudden they're charging big bucks for a handheld. I don't know how well that's going to work for them. Those are impressive graphics for a handheld though... -------------------- |

I think one reason why Nintendo dominates the handheld market is because their systems are durable. I've dropped multiple handheld systems on concrete, hardwood, bare ground, & many other surfaces and they've still worked. Their controllers, on the other hand, are a different story.

Surgiac : Oh the handhelds are not the same price as the consoles in Australia.
The consoles are still more expensive. Some random prices that are about standard, depending on deal and HDD size. Wii- $300+ PS3- $499+ 360- $300+ I dont think the price tag on the 3DS will be worth it in any case as the only real difference between it and a DSLite is a gimmick and maybe a boosted CPU/GPU. But if I want to play PS2 quality games I'll play my PS2...

Well, seeing as I live in australia and the price of a nintendo Wii is $350, I reckon that it's going to be extremely expensive, from $400 onwards.
