Do you run for fun? for a team? run from cops? (Ok, forget that last part How fast do you go? Distance runner/ Sprinter? Share to us. Maybe showoff your times. I've ran track for 4 years and cross country for 3 years in High school. obviously, I'm a distance runner. Not spectacular, but decent (which is why I don't run in college) My favorite race is the 800m (nicknamed "the man's race) or the mile. My fastest mile is 5:35 min 800m: 2:30 min 3.1 mile: 19:35 min How fast do you go? Distance runner/ Sprinter? Share to us. Maybe showoff your times. I enjoy running. It`s something to do when I`m out of energy drinks, coffee, and chocolate. I normally run to the store. Which is almost 4km`s away (Look it up on a distance converter)
My fastest km is: 5 minutes (I'm kinda slow) My favorite marathon: The Fiddlers Run (10kms) My fastest run to the store: 20 minutes.

I run, just not competitively (I do it for cross training in Tae Kwon Do)
My fastest quarter mile is 1:15 (slow, but hey, I'm not even in High School yet) I've never timed my mile and up, so I can't say. Neither long distance nor sprinting, one of those in between ones, like 800 meters and the like. I can do distance; it will just be slower than most distance runners, but faster than any non-distance runners. I suppose if I were to estimate on my mile, it would be slightly under six minutes. Of course, after that, I would be practically dead. My fastest quarter mile is 1:15 (slow, but hey, I'm not even in High School yet) I've never timed my mile and up, so I can't say. I can run, and I like running. The last time I ran a mile, which I haven't done in almost 2 years; I did it in 12 minutes. The last time I ran a quarter of a mile, I did it in probably under 2 minutes. I can run faster now, a lot faster than I could a couple years back. -------------------- |

We run a lot in the Army. Just about every other day. And I get sick of it sometimes. For PT tests I do fairly well. If I don't get the max score (100 points) for my age group in the 2-mile run, which is around 13:18, then I at least get very close. I ran Cross County in high school for 3 years. I was the fastest JV runner for our school (or so I claimed). I did run one Varsity race when I was a senior because we didn't have enough people for it. Out 300-some people I finish in about 60th place. Really? I was just a JV runner and I pwned most of the Varsity runners from the other schools. They must've been weak.
Not sure what my fastes mile is, but my fastest 2-mile for the Army PT test was 12:10. I am probably in the top 40 or 50 runners in my battalion right now which consists of 800 soldiers.

I ran cross-country, winter track, and spring track sophomore, junior, and senior year in high school, and I was always a distance runner. I'm not that good of a sprinter, I can only keep my top speed up for about 20 yards.

Glad you brought this up!
I remember back in high school there was a period of time where I was running almost everyday. I can say that it was the time in my life where I felt the healthiest from all the good exercise. I truly miss that feeling and now days I tell myself I want to feel like that again, oh but I'll start tomorrow. I know a lot of you can agree with me on that one! haha I would like to bring running into my lifestyle very gradually, I'd say about 2 months of bringing it into my daily schedule should get me into the motion of things. Anyone got any helpful suggestions into setting a routine for running? Any help is appreciated. I'm not really much of a runner by habit. I ran a 9-minute mile for my Black Belt test. Don't think it was that easy. That run was after the first 2 hours of the testing, but before the 100 pushups and other 3 hours of testing.
