I find that it goes much faster if I turn the cometchat off. I'm not sure how much that is slowing things down. Sometimes I suspect it's just my connection and sometimes I think it's the chat... not sure though. Just thought I'd mention it to see if you are finding anything similar on your end.

I've noticed the load indicator hanging on a couple of pages. During the last such hang, my status bar indicated it was 'waiting for boomspeed.com'. Could be a bad advertisement, or a bad graphic file in someone's layout or signature - I saw a similar thing on another forum when dragcave crashed several months ago.

It's most likely a traffic issue on those servers, and not something that Vizzed can do a whole lot about. It might explain some intermittent speed issues, and an end-user can get around them by turning off layouts and sigs temporarily if it gets too annoying.

It's something beyond Davideo7's control that affects the board speed, much like a power outage affects my Internet connection: There's no point in calling tech support when it's the electric company's issue.

I've noticed that board being EXTREMELY slow today. I've been getting the timeout message (I have the 5 second one) on index.php quite a few times. We've had about 500 people on the board all day that I've seen so that might explain it.... but it's been pretty bad this weekend and today has been the worst.

and now that we have only about 400 people on the site it's running much better. I think the 500 level is maxing out the capacity of the server.... I'm finding everything is faster now that the people on the board/games is lower.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
