It just happened 5 times last night, and 2 times in the last hour. Did anybody see the movie 2012? These little surface cracks can turn ugly very fast.


I think that it might be time for us to say goodbye to the RGR being on the same server as the board, and that could get a bit pricey.

Davideo7 : It took about 1.9 seconds to render if I remember correctly, but that was the only time it happened. As soon as I refreshed it everything was normal again.

The only problem I have had today was vizzed refusing to load, but that's been on and off for awhile now and I think it's more an issue the new vizzed has with IE7 more then anything else.
(I just did a reformat.. a week ago maybe? and I havnt upgraded the browser yet).

DarkHyren : Another future job of mine is to optimize the html of the pages, especially the RGR pages, and to start placing more stuff into CSS files. At that time I'll also make a mobile version of the site. Not sure when these 2 things will be done though.

JigSaw : How many errors? Yeah the 5 am is from the server reboot and shouldn't last more than a few minutes. Also, the site backs itself up for a few hours in the morning hours as well, that causes a little strain.

One or two mysql errors besides the usual server reboot one. The errors just show a black page with mysql error in yellow text I believe it was. Pretty much same errors that everyone else has seen but they only lasted less then a minute each.

I'm pretty sure that was caused from the backup because there's not that much traffic that early in the morning unless the google bots were going mad.

I guess I might just make it so the site backs itself up once a week instead of every morning if it is responsible for that.

Yeah I got the same SQL errors JS did.
the site probally only needs to be backed up once a week and before you test any new scripts or features, so I would agree that you're right in thinking about making it a once a week thing instead.

And the other ones will probally sort themselves out when you are able to optimise the html or if I update to IE8.
Though if when you have time to figure out why the site might not like IE7 it might help for people that dont want to update to IE8 (whether for personal reasons or they just dont know how).

Well screens probally wont help in this case, it's really just that every now and then the whole site just wont load pages unless I either close the browser and reopen it or just open a new browser and ignore the old one.
I'll note that other sites do keep working in the same browser session as the Vizzed tab is in, so I'm guessing it must be more a Vizzed thing then a local thing.

I'll note as well that I havnt had torrents or anything like that running while I'm on vizzed so it's not that anything is sapping speed.
I'll be browsing normally on vizzed for awhile and then I click a topic and it just wont load and eventually times out, but I've found that if it does that all I need to do is open a new browser window (closing the tab doesnt change anything, it needs to be a new browser session).
