When the games get more challenging, the levels gets more intense, you are just waiting to find that power-up.

Power-ups are unique in their own ways, from getting the Big Super Mushroom in the the Super Mario Bros. game to the maximum lvl. of a gun in Ratchet and Clank, and to weilding the Master Sword in Legend Of Zelda, what are your favorite video game power-ups?

Give your thoughts, your opions, you can gladly tell a better idea or a version you would like to see in the next games of that weapon. Also give you favorite assist weapon to help you on your journey.

I like the Thunder beam from the original Megaman and the Metal Blades from Megaman 2. They pwn everything. I also like the FINAL SMASH BALL from SSBB, because I like to use Samus' final smash. I also like the SPREAD GUN from every Contra game it was in (probably all of them) because you can't lose with it.

My favorite assist item is Jill (assist trophy) from SSBB because she could give you TONS of damage.

The spread gun could be improved by shotting orbs that explode on contact, damaging anything near them. The metal blades could be improved by letting you throw them along the ground or jamming them in the ground so enemies will die.

I really like the Tanooki Suit from Super Mario Bros.3 it's really awesome cause you can fly wih it and you can turn into a invulnerable statue for some seconds!
Other power-ups that i like are the Power Pills from Pac-Man, Metal-Blade from Mega Man 2, the Star Power from Guitar Hero/Rock Band and the Bullet Bill power from the Mario Kart games :]

My favorite is the Bubble Ability in Kirby Squeak Squad. I liked the bubble system in that game, and the bubble ability made it even better. Basically you could turn any enemy that had a power into a bubble and store it's power for later, you could even store recovery items into bubbles too.

My favorite is the spread-shot in contra. It's the most powerful powerup in the game and gets you through alot of the levels in contra; but be weary, the spread-shot will dissapear when you die and/or obtain another powerup.

My favorite power-up from Mega Man 2 is the Metal Blade. From blasting your opponents in all 8 directions, The Metal Blade buzzsaw every enemy at a time.

My other favorite power-up is The Lazer for the game Arkanoid. It helps you beat the levels faster than just waiting to destroy the last block.

The Screw Attack from Metroid is also my favorite power-up. It gives you the power to screw attack enemies, which is awesome.

I would have to say Metal Blade from Megaman 2 hands down You can fire 3 to 4 blades for each little piece of the bar you could replace that with your megabuster and it is awsome!

Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2 rocks. While hoding the weapon, everything becomes ammo. Infinite possibilites, therefore infinite ways to destroy your enemies. This... is one sick weapon. Anywthing is ammo. Forget about chainsaws, especially when saws become bullets.

The Godlen Hammer is one of my favorite weapon too because it does more damage knockback the opponents far more than the original hammer. And also, if you tap the buttons, you can float in mid-air.

Now last, the Red Turtle Shells from the Mario Kart Series is my favorite Power-Up. They home in on targets, rarely missing except for those using the shields. They can also act as shields! These things are incredibly effective both offensivley and defensively.

Some of my other favorites are this weird orb thing from Karnov that lets you shoot straight and down diagonally down. Get another and you can shoot straight and diagonally down and up.

I also like the classic Fire Flower from Super Mario Bros. Makes the game very easy. And I also like the Electric Shield from Sonic 3. Getting a double jump and attracting rings is awesome!
