So if it isn't private, would anybody like to share their testimony of how they became a christian? I just like hearing testimonies.

I see that no one has responded to an excellent post so I will be the first. I was saved in a Baptist church that my ex girlfriend used to take me to even though I did not want to go at all. We used to go every Wednesday night when I was younger. And I figured "well since I'm here I might as well listen to what he's (the pastor) saying." And one night, the pastor preached a message that convicted me to my very core and I understood that I had to repent and turn from my wicked ways in order to avoid eternal damnation and seperation from our Holy God.

Here are ABC's for getting Biblically saved if anyone is not sure where they would spend eternity if they were to die tonight:

a : Admit you are a sinner. See Rom. 3:10

B : Be willing to turn from sin (repent). See Acts 17:30 and Believe that Jeusus Christ died for you, was buried and rose from the dead. See Rom 10:9-10

C: Confess your sins to God and invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior. See Rom 10:13.

edison131 : that is an awesome testimony, I remember I used to go to a Baptist church, and that church was the first church to plant a seed in me. That ABC thing is a good outline for salvation. I can't remember if I've heard it though. Any way's awesome testimony.

Thanks a lot Hoochman. There is actually a lot more but I'd probably have a short novel posted lol (as I'm sure most of us would). If I have additional time later today or in the near future I'll have to elaborate and give some preliminary information. When I first read the thread, all that came to mind was the instant I was saved. And yea, the ABC outline is a useful way to remember fundamental truths to Biblical salvation, and it's relatively easy for new Christians to remember. Do you have a testimony you'd like to share?

edison131 : My testimony started when I was 4-5 years old. I am 15 going on 16. I was going to a baptist church, and I had always heard the plan of salvation, but I didn't understand it or listen until one Wednesday night event. I finally decided to become a christian at 4 probably 5 years old. And at that time I knew what it meant to be saved and I was saved, and I knew what it involved. But I had a hard time walking the walk. I wouldn't grow and mature spiritually much. I finally decided to grow around 4th 5th and 6th grade. I slipped back down in 7th 8th and 9th grade. I was depressed in those years. Than in the summer after 9th grade I finally really got with it ecause I finally learned what it was to really grow and rely on God. Hope that helped.

I used to be a serious drug addict. I started weed/ alcohol age 11, picked up speed age 14, hallucinogens/ inhalants age 15, went to Juvenile Hall/ Los Pinos for possession with intent to sell age 16. During this incarceration I prayed for forgiveness and deliverance from the drugs, and further asked that all of my drug-friends would be removed from my life. Age 17 picked up cocaine, continued drugs, but things started to change: each day and every time I would get high with friends it would get more and more awkward. Age 19 went to Theo Lacy (correctional facility), here I surrendered my life to Christ, now 25, drug-free and free in Christ.

If you're familiar with the heavy metal band Korn, here is a testimony of how God saves to the utmost http://www.christiantoday.com/article/second.korn.member.becomes.christian/22731.htm I think this relevant because I share a similar testimony in this thread.
