Goodness, even I ignored that, and guess what happened to me?
I was playing on the scooter with my friend Conner, and my face, shoulder, and knee took a turn for the worst. I lost my balance, and then fell FLAT on the rocks and cement.

Now I have:

1. BLOOD.
2. Nosebleed.
3. MEGA scrapes on my forehead (used big bandage)
4. Cracked front tooth
5. Swollen right lip
6. Even more blood.
7. Bruise and blood on shoulder and knee

Owch, and I was good on the scooter too:

OW! You have my sympathies. I myself am guilty of not wearing a helmet about 50% of the time, but when I was 7, my helmet probably saved me from breaking my neck, or at the very least getting a massive concussion. I was riding my bike really fast, and not really watching where I was going, and when I looked up I slammed into a street sign. I hit it so hard that my helmet actually split down the middle.

Do you think that's going to save you from scraping all the flesh off your face when you go sliding across the pavement? For goodness sake, I bet they wouldn't even stop your nose from breaking if you fell face-first. D:

Luckily, I was wearing my helmet and chances are if I wasn't I would have withstained severe head injuries because I actually landed on my head after being thrown from the bike. So instead of having a major problem, I walked away with a little road rash, nothing too serious.

Hope you're feeling better, and you wear a helmet from now on. Two summers I go, I was on my way home from work on my bike, when a car ran through a stop sign and hit me. I got thrown from my bike, had black bruise's and nasty road rash all over my body, but I was wearing a helmet, and luckily I didn't suffer any serious head injury. I never get on a bike without a helmet...It doesn't matter how good you are on whatever you're using, anything can happen and it's always better to be safe than sorry.
