I voted one because I enjoyed it more. I just had more fun playing it. Two felt like a bit of a drag, and I just kept waiting for it to end, hoping that my new team mate wouldn't die this time, lol. The no levels thing was kind of fun, but I didn't like it in the end because it was hard to judge how powerful you were before facing the next boss. |

I'm going with 1. In the second ff game you didnt get a chance to choose the team you want witch is hassle if you know what moves you need to beat the monsters/boss.

I thought the 1st one was too easy. I'm the kind of player that stays around and levels my characters up just about as much as they can be before moving on no matter how tedious that is. I found that my "Fighter" character could never die even when the others dropped underneath him. I liked it because I like RPG's period, but it wasnt one of my favorites. To kind of quote a review I read a few years ago about FF1: I remember the reviewer saying something like "just get 4 fighters and ignore the other classes and beat the game". Of course, I didn't do that because that would have been boring. I got really really far and never beat it. I lost interest after so many easy victories. I never even played 2 in my life because I thought it would be more of the same. This thread gives me a reason to try the 2nd one. I thought the 1st one was too easy. Final Fantasy 2 is like the electric boogaloo of the FF games. It was a generally bad sequel in my opinion. The original was better. I like XIII and hope that XIV will be good but 2 was just terrible. At least in my opinion anyway.

No, but seriously, FF1 is getting my vote. FF2 imho was trying to get too serious with a storyline that early in video gaming. Little poorly-rendered dudes are hard to relate to.
