I actually didn't know about Vizzed until after I got out of high school, but almost everything that wasn't some sort of education site was blocked. However, I knew several ways around it.  I actually printed out a list of proxy bypass sites and kept it in my wallet. (evil grin)

I think that it is indeed unfortunate that the website is blocked, and that you ought to be allowed to go to any website you want to on your free time (as long as the website isn't illegal, of course). But the good news is that www.undoblock.com ought to work for you. |

i think its a good thing to have sites like this blocked at schools because the computers at schools are for educational purposes like studying for test or being on a site the teacher needs you to look at. vizzed.com should allowed on personal time at home. -------------------- |

I think that it is right, but I'd rather it not be blocked... It is blocked because of the "games", I think that the school has a right to not let kids play games at school during the day... My school is okay with forums, but not with games

I think it shouldn't be blocked, but kids should only be allowed to go on if they were done with all their work. My brother's 3rd Grade teacher let him go on Addicting games if he finished his work. No i say that it shouldn't be blocked. Yes you are in school to learn. But their definition and my definition aren't exactly the same. I learn many new things on Vizzed. And not only about gaming. I am reading people's stories. Studying their art. Reading possible political theories. News updates. Maybe if they only banned the RGR and the Toon Room. That way we at least could socialize in the forums. Besides, do they expect us to sit there and stare at a blank wall for half an hour when you finish the work early? -------------------- |

I have not checked at my school but its probably not blocked almost none of the people at my school know about it. It really shouldnt be blocked a lot of games use the download thingy so you could not even play them at school. I love this site and am on it every day. More than face book. XD -------------------- |

Well it is easy enough to get around the School filters, but anyways. I think vizzed should be blocked in schools, you are suppose to be paying attention to the teacher not chatting or playing games. When I was in regular school and took typing there were always those who would get around the filter and play flash games instead of doing their work, same for when we would get on the computers in Criminal Justice. It was really annoying to see them doing this and then when they get caught the school just tightens the filter.

metal572 : Well, at my school, it's different. Computer usage is something to do at lunch, and I find no point in it if all game sites are blocked. They blocked a ton of sites because of the "search keywords", so there goes hope of doing projects at lunch.

Here at my college it isn't blocked and let me tell you I've lost some points being on here during class. The teach won't say anything but when I get my progress reports points marked off for being on here. Learned to stay off here so much during school, cuz as they say I should be learning.

Where I live, yes. The schools in my district have a "code" that the computers that the district provides must only be use to research things and study. I would like it if it wasn't blocked as well. |

I'm kinda in the middle for these stuff, i say its ok if its basically free time with no work and stuff, but no if its in the middle of school work. people need to pay attention in school, you want to get a good job, make good money, and succeed in life, not stay in your parents basement playing the games here , cause that is NOT cool

I understand why it is blocked and I agree with it. Like others have said, you should not be on a game site when you are there to learn. On top of that, it is increasingly common to see chat sites blocked because of online predators and cyberbullying so that explains why it is blocked during lunch as well.
I didn't discover this board until just after I graduated high school (dear gods, I have been here eight years?) and it still took up a bunch of my time. Never blocked at my schools... nor was any other aclcm board... though one set of public computers at cal state long beach that blocked certain threads on Xeogaming because the word "f*cking" was used (uncensored), yet it let me go into a thread titled "f*ck you"... silly filters.

I have to say that I agree with it being blocked because you are there to learn and not to play games and whatnot. If it's during lunch or whatever they should have something that unblocks it but for lunch only, since it is guaranteed free time.

I don't really like saying it, but I do agree with having it blocked. Even though the site is safe, it is a game site (polar opposite of school). If there was a site similar to Vizzed that wasn't safe, I would hope a school would block it. The people in charge can't tell the difference so they just lump everything together. Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music. This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees. If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
