My favorite starter which evolves into my favorite Pokémon is my first starter Froakie since I started with Pokemon Y in 2013. If we went just on the first form alone it'd be Rowlet as I love Rowlet's design and like it better than the evolutions.

Dauntez : They're actually not gifs, they're webp. But yeah, it was an excuse to use graphics in a poll since that was never a feature in the past.


As for my favorite, definitely Charmander. Pokemon Blue was my first Pokemon game and I've always been drawn to the fire starters.

Gah, I'm torn between the water starters... I think Piplup is adorable, but I also really like Mudkip (Swampert is a beast even though I still don't like the way its Mega looks), and Froakie too...

I think I'll go with Piplup since it grabbed my attention first. Froakie is a close second for me, though.

I love all the generation 1 and 3 starters having grown up with FireRed and Emerald. "Blaze" the Blaziken (creative I know) was the first Pokemon I ever leveled up to level 100.

Having said that, Mudkip is my favorite as I have grown up. It's such a strong Pokemon for Emerald, particularly in the annoying fight against Watson, and Swampert has such a sick design. I especially enjoyed his animation in XD where it looks like he is spinning records like a DJ haha.

The water starter is usually my favorite each generation. That will probably stop with Generation 10 after my recent experience with Quaxly; that might have been the only time I have ever boxed my starter in a playthrough.
