Well, I've been watching football since the mid 2000's mainly NFL but my favorite team the Cincinnati Bengals haven't had too many highs in that time span. The 2021 and 2022 seasons were the highlights of my sports watching life. The 2021 season the Bengals ended a 30 year playoff win drought and made it to Super Bowl 56, and then the following year they made it to the AFC Championship game, but things have been downhill the last 2 seasons though they've still ended up with a winning record. Here's to hoping things get better next year. Who knows, if things improve, I may finally go to watch a Bengals game at their stadium for the first time. I also watch college basketball. I follow the Dayton Flyers because I originally grew up not in Dayton but somewhere close to there and I just kinda started following that program. The 2013-14 was a big highlight year because they unexpectedly made it all the way to the elite 8. They would make tournament appearances the following 3 seasons, but that former one was the big highlight. 2020 could've possibly been the greatest season in program history. They led the country in both points and assists, and the speed and synchronization of their passing was something I've never seen and haven't seen since. They had a superstar named Obi Toppin on their roster, and they were 29-2 with their 2 losses coming to ranked opponents in overtime. Unfortunately their conference tournament and the NCAA tournament were both cancelled due to COVID, leaving a huge feeling of "what if"... For a mid major program like Dayton, that was a once in a lifetime season, so for things in the world to go the way they did when they did was nothing short of devastating. I have a few over a variety of sports. I will skip soccer (can't believe you forced me to type that, grrrr) because, while I have nice memories of it with family and friends, it's a sport I sincerely don't like and I'm absolutely out of it. I guess I could start with tennis. Back in 2005, there was this youngster causing a major shakeup in the world, going by the name of Rafael Nadal. He hadn't yet done much, but I remember attending our city's tournament (third tier-level on world tour, so it's fairly decent) and seeing him play on what would be the route to the title and the entire crowd was heavily amazed by him. I also remember seeing Andy Murray around in one of his earliest professional appearances, among other great memories. Years later, the local club I had attended for years finally organized a tour-level tournament. It was for the women's tour (at a time where we already had a big star like Carla Suarez playing) and the young members had a chance at being ballkeepers. I took my chance, and for an entire week I had the joy of being in court with some very famous players and, to an extent, participate in the game. At one point I could even trade shots with Carla, she destroyed me but I was so overjoyed I could care less. I also have fond memories of Formula One. I've witnessed on TV almost every iconic moment of the sport of the last 20+ years, including the back-to-back championships of Fernando Alonso, and I attended the Spanish Grand Prix for several years. But my fondest memories actually lie in the pre-season testing that used to be held here years ago before the pandemic. It was the perfect chance to be closer than ever to the drivers, without the crowds and media of the Grand Prix, which made it even more special. If only we could get that back so drivers could also walk along devoted fans overjoyed to be just clearing the path for them to walk... And by far the most important of them all is from 2017. For the first time I could attend a Ski Jumping competition live in Norway, though March wasn't very "wintery" that year (next one was very different, with almost the whole country covered in snow), and to top things off on one of the biggest hills in existence. The first day of competition, which was a team event, saw Robert Johansson fly to a mesmerizing 252 meters (827 feet) which was a new world record and threw the audience into a craze. But if that wasn't enough, during the same competition, Stefan Kraft deployed his wings and flew to an astonishing 253.5 meters (832 feet), demolishing the world record that was set earlier. The audience didn't enjoy the fact an Austrian had stolen the world record, and there was drama because the jump was very close of being invalid, but in the end it prevailed. I have attended two more Ski Flying competitions, and while each of them was special in some way (the ambient, the level of competition, meeting the athletes, enjoying a foreign country) they simply can't live up to the first time. Two world records in a single afternoon, when all I had seen before was through TV (including the previous two world records, also set in a similar way at the same venue). That will probably stay forever as my favorite memory in sports. I could list a few more, but these are treasured in a very special place in my heart and mind. Of course, because I was there to see them all in person and even live them, if I had to list the moments I've witnessed in TV that I'll never forget the list could drag on for miles xD I guess I could start with tennis. I'm glad to have reason to post here so soon So Ohio State won the National Championship and I'm so happy for Coach Day and all the seniors but first I have to talk about my favorite play in the entire playoff run. The Cotton Bowl Ohio State vs Texas a pretty annoying game to watch as the Buckeyes made mistake after mistake Texas had 1st and goal from the one yard line and it really felt like Texas would win if they managed to tie the game as the offense hadn't been great most of the day after 1st down went no where Texas decided HB Toss was the best play from the 1 which I kind of get but I would of called a QB Sneak 4 straight times but thankfully I'm not the playcaller as Ohio State blew up the toss for a 7 or 8 yard loss. 3rd down the ball was tipped at the line so with the game on the line Jack Sawyer ripped past the tackle strip sacked Quinn Ewers his former roommate and ran 82 yards for a touchdown and as grandpa was screaming waking grandma up and I was jumping up and down I felt there was no way the Buckeyes wouldn't beat Notre Dame. It's a play I'll remember the rest of my life. As for the natty game itself I don't know if there's a certain moment during the game I'll remember but it was amazing watching thrm hoist that gold trophy. I have a few big baseball memories. The first was the 2013 Home Run Derby. I was working at the all star fan fest and took 2nd place in an event that MLB The Show did. I was invited to the Home Run Derby with the person who finished 1st to compete live during the game. I got two tickets to the derby and a Bryce Harper jersey plus I got to be on the field next to Mariano Rivera and Alex Gordon. Then I won the live event and got a few cool playstation related prizes. (I have a photo of me at the event somewhere on vizzed) The second event was the 2015 NLCS between the Mets and Cubs. I bought a ticket and went to the game for like $120 and was able to see Daniel Murphy's insane postseason stretch which is still one of the best ever. Next is the debut of Steven Matz, which was earlier in 2015. The game from the day before was postponed because the game was tied and it was raining so they had to complete that game before starting the normal game but the game was tied from the 7th inning all the way to the 13th before it finally ended. Then in the second game, Matz made his debut and had a great game as a pitcher but also had the best performance of a hitter. Then after the game there was a Steve Miller Band concert in the stadium so it was overall a crazy 7 or so hours. I also went to a few MLB debuts and final games. I was at the final games for David Wright and Alex Rodriguez and I was at Jose Fernandez' MLB debut. The first was the 2013 Home Run Derby.
