The return of a classic in the Pokémon forum. The concept is simple, I'll name a pokémon for the person below me to rate on a scale of 1-10 and then write a couple sentences to explain their rating. There's no set criteria as far as a rating goes, you can rate it based on your own personal history using it, competitive viability, its design, or your first impressions if you've never seen the pokémon before. Once you've done that, you name another pokémon for the next person to rate, and so on until the end of time.

I have it set to 1 post per day per person since it's a TDV month.

I'm giving Haxorus about a 7/10, he is pretty cool, but not the best, but the shiny is pretty good. In Pokémon Go he's well, the move set is good, in PVP he'll win most of the time.

Bulbasaur is pretty decent all around as far as starters go and I also appreciate that it's the only starter with two typings. Overall though, I tend to go with either Squirtle or Charmander when they're available to due hitting a bit harder and having better movepools. I'll give Bulbasaur a 7/10 rating.

The next pokémon to rate is Heracross.

Heracross, one of my favorite early gen Pokémon. I love its design with its long horn, blue color (along with the pink shiny), and it was easily one of the best early gen bug types in battle as well. Being both bug and fighting, it obviously has a major weakness to flying, but it’s just one of the coolest early gen Pokémon at least in my opinion. I’d give Heracross a 9/10.

Skuntank.. 4/10. Besides a Galactic commander pokemon and a mystery dungeon antagonist I can't remember much about him. I rate it a little higher for the fact it learns flamethrower when it evolves. Funny explosive farts.

From a design perspective, I think Maractus is pretty adorable, but where its stats, movepool, and competitive viability are concerned, it leaves a lot to be desired. Its only noteworthy stat is its special attack of 106, and even then, it's crippled by its mediocre speed stat of 60 and poor bulk. I'll give it a 5/10 because of its design, but it's definitely outshined by a lot of stronger pokémon.

Archeops is afflicted with the same curse as Slaking and Regigigas in that it has excellent stats that approach legendary/pseudolegendary status, but its viability is all but hampered by one of the worst abilities in the game– Defeatist, which halves attack and special attack stats when it's HP dips below 50%. Since it has poor bulk, it will likely lose it's excellent attack stats to any decently strong pokémon it doesn't kill. It's probably still decent in-game, but its horrible ability severely cripples its potential. I rate it a 4/10.

I know Volcarona is popular (and strong), but from a design perspective, I've never been a huge fan. I just think it's really ugly looking. I guess it does deserve some credit for being one of only a few strong Bug Pokemeon, though. Overall, I'll rate it a 6/10.

More like Lameow. Even though I've never used one in a game before, I don't really think I'm missing out on much. It has mediocre stats across the board (besides a base speed of 85, which is decent for a basic pokemon) and a rather high level requirement of 38 to get it to evolve into Purugly. Overall, it's an unremarkable normal type pokemon that will struggle to pull its weight for 30+ levels until it evolves, and even then, there are plenty of better options out there. I'll rate Glameow a 2/10.

The next pokémon to rate is Chandelure.

Jolteon is a solid Eeveelution, not my favorite, but it's certainly my go-to in Gen 1 since I usually go with Charizard for fire type coverage and Gyarados for water type coverage. It's incredibly speedy and hits decently hard, but it's definitely on the frail side and also suffers from a pretty limited movepool. I'll rate Jolteon a 6.5/10.

Joltik is a pretty underwhelming pre-evolution to the speedy sticky webber Galvantula. It lacks the speed it’s evolved form has while having no particular strength it excels at. The electric/bug combo is pretty interesting but overall Joltik is just meh…

I'm not super familiar with this one since I completely skipped the disappointment (in my opinion at least) that was Scarlet and Violet. When I evolved Pawmi into Pawmot in Pokémon Go, I was surprised to see it gained the fighting type. In retrospect, it's not a big deal, but something about seeing an Electric/Fighting type was just refreshing since it's not a combination you see that often (at least compared to Fire/Fighting which is done to death). I can't really say too much about Pawmot since Pokémon Go is a pretty watered down version of the main series games, but looking at its stats and movepool, it looks like to be an effective glass cannon. Overall, I'll give Pawmot a 7/10.

Golurk is a very interesting Pokémon being one of the few non-flying types to be able to learn the HM Fly. That made Pokémon Black and White more manageable since I really didn't care for any of the flying types of the Unova region. Also it's one of the few Pokémon that can always land dynamicpunch thanks to it's No Guard ability. Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
