Personality is very important to me and is the determining factor. But at the same time, I know it's kind of selfish but I wouldn't want to date someone who's kind of nice, but offensive to look at. I don't expect a super model, but I wouldn't want to date someone who's difficult to look at either. I would just like someone average looking and I wouldn't ask for much more than that. I also wouldn't want to date someone who is very attractive, but problematic or mean either.

No matter what anybody says, appearances do factor into who you like. They are what draws you to another person in the first place. Granted they don't have to be the most attractive person in the world; you just have to like them. After the initial attraction, then personality is what makes you stay and then like and maybe eventually love a person. People who base a relationship purely on looks are shallow, but we all do to an extent.

i think both if your lookign for logn term, you want a good sex life with them and when you have kids you want them to look good too and if their personalies good then thats the main thing because when your looks finally fade with age you'll still lovethem for who they are i think both are essential.

Yeah, this what stops me from having a successful relationship. Yes, I have female friends and they love my voice and personality, but when they see me and for some reason they lose all attractiveness toward me because I'm a big guy and most of them calls me ugly and such. Now, it hurts me, but I'm also not ashamed of my body. So what if I'm a big guy. I think I'm dead sexy. I got to keep my confidence up you know. Anyways, I don't care about the looks. I rarely do. All that matters to me is their personality I fall for. If they are complete materialist, snobby and only wants a rich good looking guy. Then they are no good. I love a girl who is down to Earth and sweet and not afraid to get down in play rough every now and then and I mean rough meaning playing tough sports or just wrestle.

To me, personality is EASILY the determining factor. If I can't get along with someone and/or we don't have at least one thing in common why would looks matter then? In fact, if the person has a REALLY good personality, then they could be the ugliest person and I wouldn't mind.
